Yep, just hadn't heard that we had also hosted Serong. Gives us a great insight into a couple of the possible of options at our pick which is fortunate.

I am curious as to whether Serong could benefit from dropping a few kgs given he's currently listed by the AFL as 179cm/88kg. May go some way to improving his burst?
Your spot on about his extra kilos, at AFL level he should be around 80kg at his height, he also plays cricket in the off season so doesn’t have a proper pre season which he will get at AFL level, the other good insight we will get into all the players in the draft is with Luke Power who has coached and worked with all the elite talent as the AFL academy coach, a huge advantage for us imo, and not only for this year but next as well, plus any players we might look to trade in that have been drafted in the last few years.

It's less about the gap, and more about who is left out of that upper group when our pick comes around.

If it's Serong, McAsey, Flanders and Stephens, I'd advocate trading out unless we're confident enough on Bergman and willing to select him. We're unlikely to get access to a pick higher than 14, and Bergman will probably be gone by then, almost certainly to the Dogs.

So the question is someone like Bergman or Kemp, versus two players like Gould and Sharp.

If McAsey is still on the board come our pick expect Geelong to come hard at 9, ideally a trade with Port for 12 & 18 gets us inside the Dogs pick at 13.

Just add the points up.

We come out 170 points ahead in a worst case scenario, which would be Pick 19. With GC already having a PP, it's actually 212 points ahead, for Pick 20.

The higher above 18th we finish the further ahead we come, although it doesn't matter too much at that point in time.

I'm not a fan of swapping our future second for one this year. I know next year's draft is "compromised", but that just means there are going to be a stack of clubs wanting second rounders to use on matching bids. Every chance we can use our second to good effect on the trade table next year.
Our future 2nd has Caldwell written all over it considering the huge deficit GWS will have next year.

If we keep 9, gotta feel Kemp is our guy. I'd love Stephens if he's there and maybe he will be high on our draft board. But I reckon with where we're at and how we've seen him close quarters in pre-season, we'll take the risk and he'll be top 5 in our list. Would probably take a Young to drop to us to make us reconsider.

As always, I'd LOVE to see what our current board is looking like.
Any chance the Carlton media boys shoot a video in the war room that just happens to have the board in the back ground.

Good thing about the Freo trade is that it pretty much means we're the only option for teams outside the top 10 to get into it.

There is no rush to do anything - need to remember that we're not trading pick 9 to a team, we'll be trading a player still available that another team highly rates. Every chance that could be a player Cats/Power/Suns rate in their top 5/6, so I expect they'll all be willing to pay overs on the night if their player is still there.

Can’t see us picking Pickett with our first pick if we trade it. Think he’s been built up to much by the media

The media didn’t invite Pickett to draft night.
The invitation suggests Pickett will be taken 1st round ... he is rated.
Of course, by trading down we get 2 bites of the cherry at picks 16 & 19.

So if Young is actually on the board come pick 9 on draft night, wonder if that changes the value of what other clubs are willing to part with for the selection?

Dylan and Cooper are both top 20 prospects. But you're also probably losing it.

Plausible summation good sir. Is Dylan the midfielder that is similar but different to O’Brien? Or is that Cooper? If it is Dylan what’s with the blumour we are into Cooper?

If you know the cut of his Jib and would be so kind to enlighten me I’d I owe you one.
