I’ve heard some funny stuff but If Micallef plays to many reserves games early on, expect he won’t stay at EK for long. His not going to enjoy playing reserves when he clearly is capable of playing seniors.
If Lachie Calder has gone to EK then that’s not a smart move by a key forward. He also won’t like playing reserves if that’s the case.
Maybe both of them like other things available to them when playing at EK?

I dont know what your implying but i can only imagine as alot of you people are very critical and jealous of EK you make it blatantly obvious. Good on them doing what they are doing, easily the most talked about club in the EDFL across all divisions. All publicity is good publicity and Typical turbo to like an anti EK comment.
Turbo your a Hillside boy why dont you call Victor and ask him why he went to EK if hes not guaranteed a senior game? Clearly Hillside isnt a club players want to stay at you have lost many players over the year. You even lost Colletta whose dads and ex president.....

And that’s the attitude of your club right there. Maybe these 9 players are good club people who have been pushed aside and not treated with respect. Remember a lot of 2nds and 3rds players are the heart & soul of clubs.
My club ? I’m not from ek I’m just stating the obvious of what 99% of people would rather have.
Colleta and Victor are not going to be easy to replace. Best of luck

Personally I think they are definitely replaceable but are good players no doubt and 1 pointers at HS. Although HS were most likely disappointed to lose them It’s not as though they are ex AFL, VFL, premier league players.
My point was “if” Victor plays to many reserves games ( if at all) his not going to be happy as would most players of his ability at div1 level. That was my original point. Playing reserves is not fun and also no $$. But I’m sure he will play seniors as they need a bit of inside “grunt” but the problem is his no rated 5 points. Hopefully he gets along well with the coach

I must be part of the 1% as well. I watched ek vs hillside grand finals seconds and thirds and there were some very handy players there- 10-12 of the playing squad should easily be playing seniors somewhere in this division. Every player is replaceable. It all comes down to good coaching and teamwork! And what role they have for the team. I would rather have 9 x membership fees plus all the other spending and helping around the club - the two hillside boys will just join the other 35+ players that have come across from other clubs in the last 2 years! To be part of trying to get to premier division.
Anyway, wait and see what happens round 1- and ek,s starting 22

Because even Thirds players have to pay memberships, club merch and put money over the bar/canteen.A club will do anything to recoup money that may be over spent on some players.

I will be surprised if the league doesn’t approve the clearances especially if they played any 3rds games as surely the opportunity to play higher footy over rides 3rds.
The thing is Turbo if the league agree to clearing all players to Keilor Park then it’s open slather for Div2. They couldn’t possibly deny other clubs getting more than 2 players from the same outgoing club. A bit like starting any new team in div 2. Can’t have rules for some and not others. I hear you but the league should have knew this was coming when they allowed a 3rds competition. I’m not totally against it but don’t like that Keilor Park need players to fill 2 sides and Jacana struggling yet they allow some clubs 3 teams and some have 4 senior teams. Surely that’s not good for our game especially when players want out. Couldn’t they use the I want to go from social footy ( being 3rds and no $$) to playing professional footy and getting paid. A good tactic which surely constitutes a clearance.
Who knows principal I guess maybe the reserves coach didn’t leave on good terms I can’t comment I got no idea or maybe EK holding out for a cash offer from KP, that’s what I’d be doing
