I have picked this team based over their whole careers however if i had to pick it based on who was the best in their prime (but got cut short due to injuries or other reasons) i would probably have the likes of kouta, j.brown, dusty (who will most likely get in by end of career), c.rioli in ahead of a few others.


Mods please dont merge with other threads as i want to update this yearly..

I wouldn’t have McGovern in it simply based on he cannot shut a player down, he is brilliant on his own on his terms but if required to play on someone really struggles. Off the top of my head I cannot name a replacement until I think about it.

fair call but i had goodes as 2nd ruck relief since he won a brownlow playing there. mitchell was a tough one to leave out.

i dont mind the intercepting type defender since scarlett and rance can shut down so well anyway

I would cut any player that played majority of their career in the 90's so Voss and Buckley would be out.

Overall though a good effort, though I do think Goodes deserves a starting 18 position more than Dangerfield.

When you have Scarlet and Engright in shutdown roles and interceptor is perfectly fine.
