Agree, McAsey is looking like a lost cause with pick 15. He'll be top 10 because...Naughton. Clubs won't let a mobile tall guy with incredible mitts who attacks the marking contest slide out of the top 10. Naughton should have gone at pick 3, 4 or 5.
Naughton slid because of his kicking. McAsey doesn't have Naughton's pace, seems more a McGovern type which any club would be happy with anyway.

Part of me hopes he bombs for the first couple of years at the crows and we pick him up later. It's not like the Crows can keep all of their KPDs anyway (Davis, Lever, Keath)

They look like entirely different players. The only similarities is the size/build.
And, reportedly, energy. For a smaller forward you need that energy.

I have heard that, from someone who would know.
He's not a need but by god Dev Robertson is going to make recruiters look silly in coming years. He arguably had the most dominant champs in a decade, captained his side to win it all, played half a game with a dislocated shoulder and recruiters still think half a dozen guys playing uncontested rebound football are a better option.

Dare we remind everyone that the last HBFer to win a Norm Smith was a rookie lister?

I agree, crazy to think Deven Robertson slides all the way to Geelong's pick!

Adelaide's lsit manager said they are really open to trading picks 22 and 23 to move up the order. SAid they have spoken to a few clubs about it.Could we be one of them or are we deadset on Weightman?

Amazing to think that this thread next year will have almost zero debate about who we are taking

Going to be a boring two years between now and the 2021 draft. Lack of debate of who we should or might get, the fun of the mystery, talking about various different prospects. Instead it will just be about Jamarras highlights packages, the other NGA/FS prospects and what other teams might do. But we won't be complaining too much in the end if he lives up to the hype.

Depending on how early bids come, we may not have much to discuss in 2021 either if we go too far into deficit.

Can't imagine how boring it must be for West Coast and Saints fans this year, knowing their picks don't come until the 3rd round

Still keeping my Williams avatar up to make him last to 53. I've got a good track record of avatars of mine being drafted (Richards, Smith). This one is a long shot though.

If we happened to trade down he'd be a good one. 13 to two later picks to Williams and Sharp would be nice.

If I’d just picked up Tim Kelly in trade week I’m not sure I’d mind if my only draft picks were 88, 89 and 90

not if we downgrade from 13 to picks 22 and 23 (from adelaide) and take elijah taylor and Williams/Worrell. That would be my dream scenario.

After wanting Aish over Bont and Coffield over Naughton, I no longer really have an opionion on who will be best.

But one thing I know is it’s an important pick for Austin.

Last years first picks in Smith and West picked themselves. We don’t have much idea on how his other early picks in Cavarra and Vandermeer will end up.

Next year will also pick itself in Jamarra and McPherson.

Realistically we could be a few years in without knowing if Austin is a good judge or not!

With the exception of Howard, we have nailed first round draft picks for the last decade. Genuine guns. I am not sure why we would expect this year to be any different, so will wait and see whoever it is we pick, but history shows he is likely to be a gun
