Medium midfielder who is explosive and reads the game exceptionally well. He makes good decisions particularly with his creative hands and is composed with the ball but missed a lot of football in 2018 due to injury. He does not turn 18-years-old until October, so there is plenty of upside with his game and physical development. He played all four games for Vic Country and his 18 disposals against Vic Metro at the MCG were encouraging. He averaged 19 disposals and 3.8 marks in five NAB League matches, mixing his football between the Bendigo Pioneers and Geelong Grammar. He is the brother of Carlton’s Rising Star, Paddy Dow.

Not disappointed in this selection. Similar profile to his brother but even comparing them at junior level he showed far more composer and the bad traits which have followed Paddy are either missing or nowhere near as prominent. Earlier in the year he played against Cooper Stephens at NAB league level and I was left far more impressed by Dow than Stephens, although Bendigo smashed them that day.

31. Melbourne - Thomson Dow (VIC)
Height, Weight:
184cm/76kg
Profile: Dow is a speedy midfielder with growing ball winning capabilities. Thomson is the younger brother of Carlton's Paddy but is comparatively lighter bodied and less advanced than Paddy was at the same age.

Put him in the VFL for a couple of seasons and let him develop. By 2022 he'll be developed and ready to roll into the side replacing our older stars
