Whats his kicking like TSG?Philp is a 187cm balanced mid with extreme speed and acceleration that allows him to erupt out of stoppages and into clear air.

We got the pace you wanted Windows just not Stephens but you would have to be happy with SOS work tonight.Excellent pick. Pace. Developed more during the year. Skills solid. Hands solid. I’m happy. Btw I picked him for Swans in the Phantom.![]()
The last part, I can well imagine, unfortunately.A bloke with a bung knee and a mid nobody rated remotely close to the first round (wasn't even good enough for a mediocre Metro team).
Seems Carlton enough.
Finbar II tomorrow.
and pre-knee??
Can you imagine SOS's xmas tree?
Underneath are three envelopes, with his boys' names on them. Each has a message inside.
Jack: You can have your standard present this year. OR you can have an extra present. But then you have to swap presents with Ben next year. You are expected to get a better present than Ben next year.
Ben: You can have a $100 present. OR you can have a $200 toy that is broken. There is no guarantee the toy can be fixed.
Tom: You can have four presents instead of one this year. BUT in exchange you need to subsidise Jack and Ben's pocket money next year.

We were going to trade up for Adelaide’s pick and had a deal agreed...but surprise, they reneged.
We rated Kemp over Flanders so trading down was a no-brainer.
He's not on the same level as Ash, Young or Rivers, but more than competent and gets decent penetration. Certainly much more reliable than Dow.Whats his kicking like TSG?
Any idea why Robertson keeps sliding? We were going to trade up for Adelaide’s pick and had a deal agreed...but surprise, they reneged.

I can't even remember the last draft where there wasn't value on the board at 50-70. We need a ruck, we need role players. I wonder if we'll target Nick Bryan at our next pick?I mean pick 22... wasn't hoping for much at 55
Nope, I hope SOS continues not to recognise what a small forward looks like.We can probably get Ned Cahill at 43 or whatever it is after bids.

Wonder where we see Philp developing. Plays similar to Dow in his draft year, and we seem pretty set for inside/outside mids with Setters and Stocker also in the mix. And we’d also just taken Kemp.
Just don’t really see an obvious position or role in the team for him, unless some more serious draft watchers can enlighten me?
They didn't reneg, it was based on their player not being there and he was.
First time in god knows when I am happy with the list we have built.Midfield depth, at this stage. Will breath down Dow's neck, which is a good thing.
Cripps (mid), Walsh (mid), Setterfield (mid), Kemp (mid/fwd/def), Stocker (mid/def), SPS (mid/def), Dow (mid/fwd), Cuningham (mid/fwd), LOB (mid/def), Fisher (mid/fwd), Williamson (mid/def), Kennedy (mid/fwd), Philp (mid).
It's a good mix of players with multi-positional ability. Deep midfields are the way to go.
