Ben Brown's dearth of goal assists has North's forward line rated as #12. If only he was a bit more selfless. And obviously, nobody else of any value down at the pointy end.

Really? That’s the reason? Not Sugars dismal goal kicking for 2019 as one issue?

Anyone hear Jack 'Pigs Arse" Elliot unload on SOS this arvo? Said there were a few people at Carlton like Sticks etc who would not shake his hand - described him as being selfish and greedy and only interested in money - glad he is gone. Ouch!
It’s unlike him to speak his mind.

I figured people would have put 2 & 2 together re: Silvagni & Elliott.

Silvagni came clean to the AFL about Elliott's cap rorting.

On November 21st, it was reported that Carlton would tell the AFL that only 4 Directors at the club were aware of the salary cap rorts, naming John Elliot, Wes Lofts, Barry Stones and Kevin Hall.

On November 23rd, the AFL commission fined the Carlton football Club $930,000 including $872,424 for current breaches and a further $57,526 remaining from suspended sentences from breaches in 1999. Payments to four players were specified Craig Bradley, Stephen O’Reilly, Stephen Silvagni and Fraser Brown. In addition, the club was denied its first two selections in the 2002 National draft, as well as their second and third draft picks – their first pick would be at 45. Futher the Blues were penalised the first and second round picks in the 2003 draft, and the 2002 Preseason draft

On March 28th, The Age reported that Craig Bradley and Stephen Silvagni were unlikely to ever recieve any of the money promised under the table in 2000. Carlton said they couldnt afford to pay and in any case, the former players had not asked for the money. The Age also reported that former president John Elliot had expressed disappointment on The Footy Show in the two players for coming forward to the AFL.

This squad is far from set, starting with the key defensive posts. Majak Daw was good in 2018 before serious injuries sidelined him for all bar four VFL games this year, while Josh Walker joins as a delisted free agent. Sam Durdin is right in the thick of that race, Ben McKay will try to put himself back in it, and Jamie Macmillan is another option if the Roos prefer a different type. Ben Jacobs, Aaron Hall and Dom Tyson all had wretched 2019 campaigns for varying reasons. Jed Anderson and Bailey Scott could force their way in on pre-season form, and Will Walker (after a season out with injury), Paul Ahern, Tom Murphy, Kyron Hayden and Aiden Bonar are wildcards. Ed Vickers-Willis' ACL recovery leaves him out. – Marc McGowan

B: Marley Williams, Robbie Tarrant, Majak Daw
HB: Jasper Pittard, Josh Walker, Shaun Atley
C: Trent Dumont, Ben Cunnington, Jared Polec
HF: Mason Wood, Nick Larkey, Tarryn Thomas
F: Cameron Zurhaar, Ben Brown, Kayne Turner
Foll: Todd Goldstein, Shaun Higgins, Jack Ziebell
I/C: Jy Simpkin, Taylor Garner, Luke Davies-Uniacke, Luke McDonald

DEPTH
Defenders: Joel Crocker, Sam Durdin, Jamie Macmillan, Matt McGuinness, Ben McKay, Tom Murphy, Flynn Perez, Ed Vickers-Willis
Midfielders: Paul Ahern, Jed Anderson, Aiden Bonar, Aaron Hall, Kyron Hayden, Ben Jacobs, Bailey Scott, Dom Tyson
Forwards: Charlie Comben, Lachie Hosie, Jack Mahony, Curtis Taylor, Will Walker
Rucks: Tom Campbell, Tristan Xerri

From the AFL site but gee Jed’s hard done by.

Agreed. I'm thinking Jed for Kayne, and (if fit) EVW for LMac.

You might be missing the joke. You see, Champion Data rates players as elite, above average, average, below average, and poor. The word "poor" in this context, means of low standard as a footballer; poorly skilled, if you will. However, "poor" is a homograph in that it can also be defined as being of low socioeconomic status. Reference to private schools and Brad Scott's penchant for financial planning among footballers is thus, a joke based upon the aforementioned homograph.
