No Tariek Newchurch?
Not selected for SA in the recent U17's All Stars squad barring injury [Kaine Baldwin] which is the main criteria I think.

He's in the all important SA Academy Hub squad though and as part of our NGA squad he'll be participating in specialised training with us anyhow through our Crows Academy under the tutelage of Jason Porplyzia and Chelsea Randall..

There's that Baldwin kid again
Hope we draft him anyway even if he’s not in our NGA (which I am confused as to why he was in there to start with and now isn’t).

Fogarty and Baldwin two star SA key forwards would be pretty cool.

Crows first - Baldwin
GWS first - points for Edwards
Dogs Second - points for Borlase
Other picks - points for Newchurch
Crows second - ??
Crows 2021 first trade into 2020 draft- additional first rounder?

Could go into 2021 with quite the group of youngsters..

Jones, McHenry, Fogarty, Sholl, Hamill, McAsey, Schoenberg, Worrall, O’Connor, Baldwin, Edwards, Borlase, Newchurch.

Probably only really missing that absolute A grade mid prospect.
Dudley in 2021 will add well too.

Kaine baldwin is a seriously good talent. I think he is probably a top ten pick next year and the only way he will slide is if the knee injury puts clubs off like brodie kemp this year. When he goes for his marks he hits the pack at full pace, takes strong marks and is very skillful. Its a shame he is not eligible for us. I like him as much as i like lukosious.

If you want to see how talented he is watch him play in the 2018 under 16 grand final against nowood where he took over 10 marks and kicked 3 goals from CHF.

In this game luke edwards is probably best on ground up to three quarter time. He dominated in the midfield and kicked a couple goals when he went forward. If edwards selects us we have a very good player like his dad was.

In this game baldwin is number 21, edwards is 19.

Thanks for the confirmation - in the youtube game link posted by eDPS (post #150) it was hard to tell who was who (if you weren't familiar with the players) as the video had no commentary and had mostly distant views though I was beginning to think Baldwin's jumper number was #21.

19 is Edwards?

Old man grumpy rant but as a wingman he should set up 30m along the line from the ball. Why is he in the back pocket contributing to the cluster?

Yeah yeah modern footy numbers at the ball blah blah but just knowing he is 30m down the line gives an inside clearance an option to go there

Now to watch some more to be grumpy about

He was playing on-bal. number 18 was on the wing. And the wingers role is the get back deep into defense.

Experienced recruiter Scotty Degabriele's take on the 4 youngsters training with our squad...

Four 2020 draft prospects will get a unique insight into an AFL environment as they train with Adelaide this week.
As part of the NAB AFL Academy program, South Australian locals Corey Durdin, James Borlase, Luke Edwards and Kane Baldwin will join the Crows out on the track.
Durdin, a 17-year-old small forward for Central District, played three League games in 2019.
“Corey’s really smart in front of goal with a strong skill set and he certainly knows how to find the footy,” Crows Western Recruiting Manager Scott Degabriele told AFC Media.
A Next Generation Academy prospect, Borlase is no stranger to the West Lakes facilities.
“James is a key position player who’s done a lot of work with Crows Academies Manager Jarrod Meers,” Degabriele said.
“He’s a strong, athletic, developing player who looks best suited to defence at this stage.”
Edwards, the son of Crows dual premiership player Tyson, is an emerging midfielder/ half-back who played for Glenelg in 2019.
“Luke played in the Under-18 Championships as an under-ager this year and performed well,” Degabriele said.
“He’s developing well - a smooth-moving half-back with a good skill set and the ability to play midfield.”
For Baldwin, the opportunity to train with the Crows is a shining light in what has been a tough year for the teenager.
“Kane actually tore his ACL earlier this year and he’s been doing some rehab at the Club,” Degabriele said.
“He’s a strong marking, powerful key position player who leans towards playing forward.”

must admit I'd never heard of him till these pages and that highlights package from 2018 looked very very good..very strong lad, great mark on the lead or in a contest and a good kick as well. I like the bolded bit “Kane actually tore his ACL earlier this year and he’s been doing some rehab at the Club,” If he can come back this year and play some good footy, the club will be very well placed to know just how well he is tracking injury wise should any possible move to draft him by our team look likely
