Aussies outstaying the kiwis right now. Its as if the heat of both tests so far is taking it's toll. Southee especially looks stuffed, while Boult still doesn't appear entirely fit after his injury. 50 partnership after 50 partnership. Even Paine is middling them.

I'd say Paine still declares with 15 or so overs left tonight, despite the slow'ish run rate meaning they may not be much over 500.

Enjoyed my day at the MCG today. Got to cheer an Australian century - not the one I expected - and Tim Paine’s knock was great. The game changed once Smith was gone and he arrived and started playing positively. Last five wickets were thrown away for quick runs - once Starc arrived early at the crease it was obvious they wanted to have a go at the Kiwi top order in the last hour or so and just wanted as many runs as they could get in that time.

Wagner worked hard and Grandhomme and Southee were ok but the NZ attack is really pretty threadbare with Boult underdone. Didn’t look like bowling Australia out until the batsmen started taking risks for quick runs. And after the changeover, Cummins was amazing but the Australian bowlers as a group showed immediately that they have far more skill.

Great turnout by NZ supporters, they were everywhere.

be an interesting exercise if you could swap the 2 bowling attacks around and the aussie batsmen faced starc and cummins etc and NZ got to face Southee and Wagner etc

that's the big gulf between the 2 sides.
Aussie just needed to be only 2 down at lunch and then the ball would stop swinging, and with only a stop gap spinner NZ are in trouble.
really surprised we bowled first too. Aussie tracks just don't seam enough to warrant it.
Full credit to Head & Smith, they batted very sensibly. But every time santner bowled, he just released all the pressure, and meant Williamson had to over bowl the seamers, and they looked tired.

Great to see the crowds at the cricket too. Hopefully it means it wont be 32 more years between drinks.
NZ will get a lot better the more it plays there too. We adapt very well usually, but just such a big ask to play a series without any experience on Aussie wickets

Getting absolutely belted, in football parlance you're 25 goals down at half time.

Smacks of event managers getting carried away with themselves.

Group of teens/20somethings.. "hmm.. we could spend the day down at the beach in Lorne or pay to go to an area made up to look like a beach cafe inside a stadium inside the city.."

Middle/upper class w@nkers fantasizing about being yobbo's for a day.

The invasion of working class culture by the bourgeoisie strikes again (see AFL football, inner city Melbourne, Beer, tattoos, etc., etc., etc.).

Bang on.

You have to keep with the times but adding frills just papers a weak core product sometimes.

Exhibit A: s**t AFL games meet KISS CAM

Gentrification of test cricket?
It’s a gentleman’s game and always has been. Something you know very little about.

Once again you are proven to be full of shyte. Just do everyone a favor and STF up for a while. A very long while, again.

Speaking f deep fakes (which nobody was until now), how is Mel McLaughlin? Surely she is a computer generated entity???

I've seen blocks of cheese with more personality.
Still a lovely lady to look at, just quietly.
