West Coasters Flag Prospects 2020

so the first half of the season doesn’t count? This argument is rediculously unbalanced and has been argued a million times. Richmond in my opinion over achieved in the first half of the season considering the amount we were on the road and with the amount of injuries and unavailabilities. This allowed us to set up the back half of the year. we only needed to drop 1 of those games we weren’t expected to win for eg Port or Freo and we miss the top 4.
WCE shat the bed twice in last 2 weeks giving up a 5 goal lead against Richmond and losing to Hawthorn. Win either of those the whole dynamics of the finals changes. So blaming the fixture is over looking the Eagles own short comings. As for 2020 the eagles are 1 of 4 teams I give a better then even money chance of winning it. Elite midfield. My only concern of the Eagles is the ageing legs in the front half and the reliability of Nic Nat.
they’re as good a chance as any

Shat the bed in the last few rounds or run out of petrol after shouldering a massive travel load?

That's the challenge some teams need to rise to in order to win a flag.

Other teams get an arm chair ride travelling once in three months. That advantage was gifted to Richmond and they took full advantage. Good for them but let's not pretend it didn't exist.

That's the difference champ.

You call it sooking when really it's simply stating facts. How are facts sooking?

The AFL has done something to correct this in 2020 but it could do more to equalise the competition but it chooses not to because all it really cares about is $$$$$.

Two trips to WA and playing Geelong at home in Geelong isn't impossible is it? Not hard at all actually.

Enjoy the leg up while the list is good enough mate. Eagles will just keep on having a crack year in year out.

funny how the travel load didn’t affect your team in the 90s when there were less games in Perth and Adelaide and were juiced to your eye balls.
Stop ******* sooking you play in a competition when 13 sides are on the other side of the country which will mean you travel. You get your 12 games in Perth your not entitled to anymore like it or lump it. If you can’t handle go back to supporting the safety of the WAFL.
Your not travelling into another hemisphere it’s a couple of hours in a comfy plane

A bit more than that. But carry on giving Eagles fans stick.

Wow you must be what 10? Maybe 12 years old.

Keep practicing trolling buddy. You need plenty of it.

PS Time for a user name change champ. Butler's has left. A rat deserting the sinking ship.
No older than 10 and love the username he is a drug free premiership champion something you will never enjoy

Riewoldt is coming off a 6 goal game in the Grand Final while Houli is coming off a near BOG performance in the Grand Final and an AA selection.

Kennedy is coming off an absolute mare which was indicative of his season.

Jetta and Hurn are cooked.
If the injuries pile up, you are done.
1) hahaha Hurn was AA and Jetta probably had the most consistent year of his career.
2) See 2018 finals series, we will survive a few injuries

Kennedy is having his first full preseason in years. He may be cooked, we don’t know, but he will have his best opportunity in having a good year since probably 2016.

Touches wood. Rubs lucky rabbit foot. Stays away from ladders and black cats!

50% game time Naitanui - that’s when he’s not injured
Kelly - good player, we’ll see how he fits your system
Hutchings - who?? The spud tagger who is fringe best 22 if that
Are 3 players better than one - obviously.
But remember we get a full preseason into 2x premiership captain and brownlow medalist Cotchin + full preseason into Lynch

No ,
Naitanui, Kelly, Gaff, Shuey etc = formidable midfield. Cotch will play 15 games at best. Kelly is better than Cotch!

Eh we’ll see about Cotch. Banking on Kelly being as good as he was at Geelong is also a gamble. He should be good but may not as he could be complacent now that he is back home and on good money, time will tell

Kennedy has been a great player but age has caught up with him. One more year max. Houli has come off an AA year but 2020 is probably his last season as well. Edwards has been massive for us as has Hurn for you guys and think both have two left. I’m not really sure why Jetta is mentioned in this group but his best is probably well behind him.
Spot on 2020 is prob our last tilt. But a lot has to go right

Think our window is until 2021 - injury and form permitting - Kennedy may be gone by then but Hurn and Jetta should still have it in them (they never relied on their athleticism in their roles with us) and the key movers like Shuey, Yeo, Kelly, Darling and McGovern should still be at their peak.

All or nothing as we have no draft picks next year effectively as part of the premiership push.

When we play the pies, hawks, blues and dees it's their home ground too irrespective whether they are crap or not.
But you're missing the point and its quite simple theirs either a true home ground advantage or there isn't.
Cats have perhaps the biggest home ground advantage, even though most teams only need to drive down the highway but when you rarely play there the odds are stacked against you...

It's not what we think its 100% fact when we played this year the eagles, GWS, Port etc at the G that's a true home ground advantage and when we play MCG co-tenants it isn't.

Freo have been crap but its still not a true home ground advantage for the eagles when you play them that's the point i was putting across.
A WCE and Richmond supporter arguing who has the worst of it.

Kennedy, Jetta and Hurn are cooked. Rioli is gone. Your depth stinks. If the injuries pile up, you are done.

Wait, so let me get this straight. First you praise Houli for his AA selection, and then say Hurn is cooked? You better check that AA team sheet again.

Jetta was one of the best kicks in the game in 2019 and had his best year in the blue and gold (he's also only 30, younger than the 3 players you mentioned.) Kennedys "mare" season gave him 49 goals too.

Our injuries didn't stop us winning a flag 18 months ago.

You're clearly embarrassing yourself.

Did Jetta age 5 years without me noticing? He's only 30 and had his best year playing for WC and played the most games he has had for us, meaning his body is in good nick.

This thread is WCE and Richmond supporters going head to head. All in good banter.
