And going by his interview on AFL Tonight he didn't expect it either. He was expecting to spend some time in the VFL, but said he had the confidence from the playing group that he could play a part.

And indeed he has.

Very reminiscent of LeRoys time after crossing over to us.

Unheralded and expected to be a role player.

Become a valued and integral part of the club in such a short time.

Massive respect.

love how well he’s fitted in, ill admit i was skeptical at first. Plays to his strengths and has thrived with the marking/spoiling support of Moore/Howe. He never had that kind of support down back at the Bullies.

Agree Pricey, when all three play together, they become the terrific trio but when Roughie is forward the unit is not as cohesive.

My expectations for Roughy were as a pinch hitting backup as ruck, forward or defence. That he's played every game and to such a tremendous level has been a huge bonus. Would have been tough without him this year, even his work as a fill in forward was commendable.

Its crazy that he has only been playing for us for less than 6 months. Feels like years.

Hard to Imagine him as a Dogs Player Now

So, he kept the reigning AA full forward to zero goals and zero goal assists?

Not bad eh?

I always take stats like that with a grain of salt. Hawkin's kicked 4 points, could just as easily been 1 to 4 goals. Similar game stats from his game against the Doggies earlier this year yielded 4-0 for example.

That's not a knock of Roughy's efforts, just the reality.

Roughy it's time to bump yer thread up from page 4 - 10th in the B&F as a full back doing the job week in and week out on the oppositions most dangerous forwards is both a reflection of how you've embraced the club and your role in it and a credit to you as a bloke both on and off the field (after being basically discarded by your old club).

We couldn't have had the season we had without you in 2019 and you're now a key cog in what will hopefully be another strong tilt at the flag in 2020.

Well done mate!

Good call, bad call, magnificent call!!!!

I found myself thinking our backline looks and feels so much safer with this bloke down there. Him and Darcy I think have to be in the discussion of the best 1&2 KPD duo in the AFL, add Howe/Crisp/Maynard/Langdon and Shaz, and that is a backline that isn't going to get beaten to often.

Be nice if 1 or 2 of IQ, Appleby and Noble stake a serious claim in 2020 given we've now lost Aish and Greenwood will have a late start to the season. That small defender role is the 1 glaring deficiency.

Congrats Jordan and Bridget.

i hope he was wearing socks.
Nah, these days it's sexy to take of shoes (stink ensues) then put on socks before getting giggity.
