It would have been the best idea. cover the hole with a wall plate and nobody would ever know.

You could get a pair of EOP devices to give you a "wired" connection, or amp up your WiFi with a mesh system to give you better covearge across the whole house.

Ahh. Then check if you have to modify the gateway IP in the Yamaha to match the IP addres of the new modem. It may be different to the old one.

Had the D- Link's with the old modem. Internet radio worked beautifully

Both the yamaha and the modem have a WPS button. Hold it down on yamaha and the run to garage and hold it down on the modem. It should auto connect. There is usually 1 minute timeout.

Tried that. For the life of me no WPS button on the modem

Wat NBN are u all getting that requires bid drills?
We have had fibre to the node and all we got was a Modem. No one came in the house with a drill let alone come inside at all

NBN had to run 30 - 40 metre cable to our joint because they couldn't connect to old node. Hence new node which they put in the wrong place Then another new 10 - 15 metre cable today in the garage to connect new modem because l didn't want holes drilled into the house.

The wps button may be digital i.e log into modem settings to use it

They were shown to be a security concern iirc
