The Counts had a thrilling win in the Series XIV Grand Final rematch against South Australia, as they pulled off a come from behind win on the road to head into the bye up and about. Having enjoyed the bye in Round 2, they'll be coming into their first home game here in Round 3 refreshed and confident of another win, but weary of a desperate Allies side still searching for their first win.
While the Allies have endured a start to Series XV they would rather forget, with another loss on Saturday seeing them limp to 0-2, the 33 point loss to South Australia at home on Saturday leaving them reeling, with skipper Dingster looking to spin the magnets and arrest his team's slide. Having lost heavily the last time these two sides met, they'll have to do something different if they expect a different result, and with a handy list on paper, the Allies have the firepower to make it happen and pull off an unlikely upset here.
This weekend, we have kicked off our Sweet FA State of Origin bushfire appeal supporting Australian Red Cross with an everyday hero fundraiser. Please let's give generously to help those in need, so get pledging on your efforts in this series and let's raise as much as we can to assist those impacted by the bushfire crisis.
Vic Country captain ClarkeM has nominated their first game of the series to be played at Mallacoota Town Oval, in a subtle tribute to his fellow Victorians who have been so publicly and dramatically impacted by this crisis.

Players to watch
The Half Back
The hero on Wednesday, the Furies firebrand and former Counts skipper proved a handful in his new role of running defender, with his last minute goal clinching the win for the Counts and seeing them exact revenge on South Australia for their Series XIV Grand Final defeat. Will skipper ClarkeM look to shift Halfy again this week to extract maximum value from his X factor?
Elton Johns Wig
The Exie points leader, disposal leader and current TFLUA_Tiger Medallist is a player to watch. If you don’t know that, who are you, Stevie Wonder? Well you would have felt like Stevie Wonder if you were looking for EJW on the field in Round 1, as the S28 standout was remarkably started on the bench in Round 1, and despite managing two goals, he barely touched the pill. Observers believe he may have been carrying a niggle, and expect to see him play a more prominent role in Round 3 against the Allies. The Half Back

Knifey Spoony
The Dragons premiership player impressed in Round 1, with his new role in the ruck seeming a good fit, he racked up 10 hitouts, 18 touches and managed to press forward and kicked 3 handy goals for Vic Country in a close battle against their nemesis South Australia in the Series XIV Grand Final rematch in Round 1. Will tackle his club skipper and Allies ruckman AceAndy this week in what should be a tantalising contest of mate v mate.
Riviat
The S28 rookie crop just continue to pull out some top notch performances in this series, with the Bombers’ Riviat the latest to stamp himself on the competition. Enjoying a new role on the wing, he picked up 22 touches and 4 marks and gave the Allies plenty of run. Looking set in a midfield position for Series XV, will he return the favour and deliver for his state in Round 3 against a strong Counts running brigade?
Jivlain
Coming into the side for Round 2, the Gumbies rep played a good role for the Allies on Saturday, as the former key forward moved onto the forward flank and was lively up there at the SCG despite the Allies’ loss. Racking up 25 touches and 2 goals, his 4 marks providing some much needed aerial impact while at ground level, he will be looking to improve on his defensive game. Can he back it up again this week against the Counts?
harry000
Warriors winger and Allies goalsneak harry000 was a shining light in Round 2 for the Allies, kicking 3 goals from a pocket to recapture his rookie season form and make the most of his opportunities from limited supply. After a strong season in midfield at his club, could the Allies look to shift him up the field to give their midfield a different dynamic this week?
