The Australian Greens - What are they Doing?

Good of you to post this to show what a moron Devine is. People probably read her headline and believed it. She doesn't even know that those fires were rated a Forest Fire Danger Index of 100. For those playing at home that's fire conditions so severe that the weather is the main driver and fuel loads are insignificant.

As former fire chiefs recently pointed out, of all factors driving a fire’s severity – temperature, wind speed, topography, fuel moisture and fuel load – fuel load is the only one humans can influence.

Did you read the referenced link? In particular

"4. Government action on climate change, the key driver of worsening fire and extreme weather risks."

"To protect Australians from worsening bushfire conditions and natural disaster risks, Australia must accelerate and increase measures to tackle the root cause, climate change."

You've got mixed up about this thread. It's about the Greens framing other people for being responsible for the bushfires.

Unless I'm mistaken, we don't have a Greens PM nor any Greens premiers?

Shouldn't the more pertinent discussion be about the national and state leaders who are actually in power?

They'll do anything to redirect the conversation away from the possibility that climate change is impacting our environment. The more we talk about the Greens and Greta Thunberg being a puppet, the less time we have to discuss what scientists have been warning us about for decades.

Another statement of assumption mate. By the way the Greens influence lots of stuff, that governments get caught up in because of crossbench deals, that hamper the doing of government policies, I suppose you are one of the believers in the 97%... tale of world scientists??

Interference in politics? Take Victoria for example and their left green ALP, since the 2009 round about time, the Black Saturday royal commission, there are a few discrepancies in the amount of planned burning off, that was recommended by the royal commission, and what amount of burnoffs were actually carried out.
Now whether the Andrews man was there then or not actually doesn't mean a thing because the last couple of years the planned burnoffs have been much much smaller than recommended too, less than they should have been.
If you don't have the brains to see that if there is basic piles of undergrowth , it does not matter how the flame starts , it matters as to how damned prepared we are to fight what is normal here in Australia, bushfires! Since Black Saturday planned recommended burn offs have been very small.

What isn't normal is when governments and councils take it upon themselves NOT to follow through with recommendations, that is what causes worse than regular fires, mate.I
t causes CATASTROPHIC BUSHFIRES like this year. Look.

Australia has suffered worse hectare loss s' in the past than so far this year, so its happened before but the stupid idiots in charge just let it get worse by not doing proper preparation. And as in the last maybe 10 decades or more , we still have people DYING!!!!!

Now political climate change fanatics, scream that climate change is to blame, how do some of you actually get so bloody pig headed about these two words, climate changes is on around the world forever, if it hadn't changed things wouldn't have been like they are, ice ages and melts and jungles becoming deserts and some of these things have worked by nature, for the better, others have not been that good.
Now Deliverance, Greta is a puppet and a sad angry young woman who will either grow past this fanaticism and drive she has, and look back at this time in not so good a fashion, or, she will carry on with how her mental health may allow her to believe what she wants to believe and whats been rammed into her head but you and I and everyone cannot deny that she was created by manipulating parents, and she in that sense has not enjoyed any childhood or fun or happiness what ever she might say.
The media and the easily led warmers and politically driven mad left, well you are all disillusioned and fanatical, and the way people brandish one liners to make a point , is bloody frightening , there is no debate with fascist mannerisms believe or we will make war on you.
That is what the left is now, and it is why Australians will eventually give the ALP another trip down opposition lane, because you ALP are tainted with over the top green politics , the LNP good or lousy won't matter, that is more than bloody frightening, its terrifying, because you minority of fanatical belief, with your scare tactics are as dangerous as frigging ISIS, YOU CANNOT SEE ANOTHER POINT OF VIEW, because you "won't " see it.
And the following public will see NOT how to keep our probe bushlands safer, yes only safer nothing is 100%!
Not completely safe because you cannot stop bushfires naturally occuring, but you can ease the impact if you prepare.
Why don't one of you cult members give me back an opposite argument, probably won't because you don't really have one?

Here's one for you, if your climate fanaticism happens to be on the mark, then why are you not fighting like mad to east the consequences of your imagination? Another , comment you know who will create renewables don't you??????????????????????????????????
Thats right its the big money giant corporations that run the mining industries now, they will be the ones with the money and the know how to create a renewable world, when iits discovered properly and useable without costing a fortune , and when the big business' get to be able to make money from it.
ITS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW, YOU ARE BLIND AND SILLY IF YOU DON'T SEE IT.
AND TOO BIG IMAGINATIONS, TO COPE WITH COMMON SENSE!

The bushfire management policies and actions of our national and state governments will come out in the wash of the enquiries about this fire season. NSW Emergency services minister David Elliott would seem to have a few questions to answer.

But in the midst of some horrific fires the Greens alleged that policies on climate change have caused the fires, and those responsible for the policies were arsonists. Green leader Richard Di Natale

Just because we cannot tie any one individual fire to the climate emergency doesn’t mean that those who refuse to act are not responsible for these blazes

It is opportunism and *ery of the worst kind. Richard Di Natale has demonstrated that he is unfit to be in parliament let alone in a position of power.

Absolutely Di Natale is a huge concern, a man on a mission only he knows about!

In fact, planned burn-offs in Victoria in the last couple of years are less than half of the recommendations for burnoffs from the Black Saturday royal commission.
Who takes blame for that? If there's lots of fuel to burn and it catches alight , well it burns and very badly. When it's dry.
But some of these state governments certainly have to be accountable, not just for the lack of bushfire preparation , but for the manipulation of water resources in the Murray Darling basin, as well.
Where now the poor old climate is once again blamed for the drought? Well no.
We have droughts all the time, it is the history of a sunburnt country, so when we blame climate change for everything, we are not even beginning to look at the real problems as they happen so we can prevent them being catastrophic. Firebreaks excess undergrowth and forest clearances is essential.
And fair share of the water , don't let foreign farming interests steal it!
And start to grow some sensible crops in prone drought zones.

So we blame the Liberals in NSW?

Careful gents.

Cue the denialism accusations.

Lol talk about sanctimonious waffle. People like Kelly, who posts daily about support for coal and climate denial, are culpable. Therein lies the shame. Scomo and his recalcitrance is far more deserving of your condemnation for being ‘unfit’, than Natale. ( something plenty of people recognise judging by the drop in his approval rating). The greens have their heads screwed on re climate issues. Yet that is who you go after. Bizarro.

The people who let the Murdoch press, Andrew Bolt and Alan Jones do their thinking for them are looking pretty stupid right now (let's call them the leaners). Unfortunately they refuse to accept that they have been very stupid and have been convinced by those that tell them precisely what to think that being conned by anti climate change propaganda aimed at the stupid is actually a mark of intelligence. Now the poor silly drones are looking to deflect, and they've been told by their overlords to point their fingers at who they see as the adults in the room; tax paying educated professionals who vote Green (let's call them the lifters).
It would be great if the leaners could just get out of the way and let the lifters get on with what has to be done.

In terms of climate policy globally Australia is the long term unemployed meth head resident in public housing.

"To protect Australians from worsening bushfire conditions and natural disaster risks, Australia must accelerate and increase measures to tackle the root cause, climate change."

It wont make any difference given we only account for 1% of emissions

Whats with the science DENIAL?

Fancy that.

Greens have no shame, nor does Fairfax for printing such nonsense. 3-4 increase is a pipedream and that increase in intensity pales in to comparison with increased fuel load. So why is Fairfax peddling such propaganda?

"Back in 2016, a Climate Council report found that the direct effects of a three to four degree temperature increase in the ACT – and we are currently on track for that – could more than double fire frequency and increase fire intensity by 20 per cent"

Ranges of accumulation of such quasi-equilibrium fuel levels vary between 11 and 24 t/ha while those in the wet forests in WA reach equilibrium levels at around 35 t/ha.(25) It should be noted that research has found that doubling the fuel in the forest will double the rate of spread and quadruple the fire intensity.(26)

Greens have no shame, nor does Fairfax for printing such drivel.

But I thought the Greens opposed hazard reduction burning?

They have in a number of instances. And opposed grazing in national parks. Its not like noone said anything. Still warnings were ignored.

A Victorian forest fire chief who quit following Black Saturday is warning a combination of fear about planned burns and increasing forest fuel loads is putting the state at risk of deadly bushfires.

When the Victorian Bushfire Royal Commission handed down its report in 2010, it was sharply critical of the Victorian Government's lack of prescribed burning, where patches of public land are deliberately set alight, to reduce fuel and to create firebreaks.

"The amount of prescribed burning occurring in Victoria is inadequate," it said.

Who's noone?

Also that article doesn't claim anything to do with the Greens. Classic meds trying to blame anyone he doesn't like. Surprised you haven't blamed Sadiq Khan and muslims.
