EPL Matchday 23

A Liverpool win and Everton win would mean that we would be 3 points off 5th (Provided Sheff don't beat Arsenal).

Not sure whether to laugh or cry.

That is a surprise. So much negativity around Everton this year (deservedly so in a lot of cases) but they're not that far off.

They have gone 4-2-3 since the start of December (Not including the 2 cup comps they got knocked out of).

It was supposed to be a month and a bit of death but they got through it ok.

Lost to Leicester, Liverpool, and Man City.
Drew with Man United and Arsenal.
Beat Chelsea, Burnley, Newcastle and Brighton.

P60 W51 D8 L1 going back to May 2018. Equivalent to 102 point per season pace for that period.

Was thinking last night how mental it is that by chance in one of these close games the opposition hasn’t hit a postage stamp in the top corner from 30 yards, or fluked a goal from a nasty deflection at a set piece or something.

I suspect Alisson is a big factor, I’m sure if I looked back, these random events which would’ve cost us points probably have occurred, but his anticipation is so good he’s making a lot of these saves (which Mignolet/Karius would’ve gotten nowhere near) look easier than they are.

Can you guys just start losing again please? I miss those days. Seeing Liverpool win every game just isn’t right.

Speaking of Karius, did you see his latest effort over the weekend?

probably goes to show how poor all of the teams outside of the top 4 have gone

Amazing all that dominance that we are already half way there to getting back on our perch. 19 locked away.
The score was 18 league titles to 7. Not that it matters now because of the wave Liverpool are riding and Man Utd's success has been taken for granted. But it's an indictment on Liverpool that their title total had been overcome easily within a generation. It should've taken other clubs 100 years to overcome that lead, if at all. Even the Atlanta Falcons could hold onto that lead.

To be fair, 13 of Liverpool's titles were earned in a 26 year period so it can be done.

At City we'll be aiming for similar numbers.

What United did in that period will never be repeated though. It was incredible what they managed to achieve - especially what their academy was able to produce for that team - Scholes, Giggs, Beckham, Neville x 2 + more. It will never happen again.

Palace win like last season would be great. Need to thrash United ourselves. Ole at the wheel take a three nio thrashing enough to not get the boot
