40 points in the GF. McLean has left and he was 4 points, so 36.

According to FB they’ve picked up Sam McLarty (playing VFL), Lucas Westwood (playing VFL), Weller, De Luca (playing VFL) and Clarke.

Weller and Clarke put them on 48 points so there’ll be shuffling, injuries etc, particularly if any of the VFL players play. Assume they’re not expecting that to happen much.

A couple of points overlooked.

They will pick up 7 points from guys dropping a point from the Grand Final, aside from the loss of McLean.

De Luca (6) & McLarty (1) will rarely been seen if at all.
Rowe, Weller & Clarke will be 18, with Phelan 4.
Leaves 25 points for 18 players.
Westwood will be 1 point.

Beverley Hills are a very strong junior club & produce a lot of talented footballers.
This point is often overlooked as they are not in the EFL.

They were always going to be aggressive recruiters coming up and add another interesting dimension to Premier.
Not just making up numbers.

Wont Rowes points go down? Or is he still 6?

I see Rennie Gilchrist has left Balwyn for Caulfield Grammarians in the VAFA. It is amazing how they continue to pick up very well paid players for nothing. Isn't it simply astounding, there's a bit of Harry Potter about all of this.

Might have something to do with the fact he went to school there and has always said he'd finish his footy with his school mates.

John Peter-Budge's sons play cricket and football at Mitcham and John even plays seniors and vets cricket there also.Is a nice a guy but the old footy injuries make life hard for him when playing cricket at times but still a very capable cricketer.

was a good cricketer as a young fella superstar young footballer. Debuted at 17 I think from memory for saints.

Boyd gone to amateurs. Can someone explain why the ammos don’t pay their players . He is obviously getting a job and other things so why don’t the ammos stop playing these games and just pay their bloody players !!!!!
it is a tradition going back 100 years. You play for the love not the money.Ammo clubs thru their sponsors can help you find a job. Takes all of the pressure on a club trying to compete with EFL clubs etc. Plus Ammos clubs are not allowed to sell grog during a game, which also puts pressure on club's finances. There are 100 reasons why they should sell grog, but they manage to survive, don't have to endure drunken supporters and they have a pretty vibrant competition.Their 2 up 2 down promotion/relegation system ensures every team has to compete to avoid relegation.

You can’t really throw a blanket over all of the VAFA. The lower divisions are certainly genuine amateurs who play with mates etc. But it’s a different story at the top.

Almost all of the top players in the Amateurs are being paid somehow. Especially those ones you see just appear at a club they have zero connection to. Generally it’ll be via a job with a sponsor or supporter etc. things don’t change much at the top (the top clubs have been there forever) because those clubs have the biggest “networks” that make those things happen.

Smart way of doing business. Instead of the club trying to find 250K each year, they have great sponsors who can look after them.
