Some concern for the Chiefs with Mahomes not on a big contract as yet.
Save $14M by cutting Watkins. But its going to get hard for others. some will be asked to restructure.

Mahomes is cost-controlled for 2 more seasons if the Chiefs want (final year of his rookie deal in 2020, 5th year option in 2021), although some believe that he'll sign a mega-deal sometime this off-season once he's allowed to
id pay him now, he certainly deserves it more far more than other recent qbs on rookie contracts who got extended...eg, Carr, Goff

There are some big names out this year. and a bunch of old QB's.

9ers are another team to watch because of players out of contract.
Dont see Sanders staying there, based on a few tweets from reporters saying the OL was sad they couldnt win for Staley makes me think he will retire [or get cut to save $10M]
Does McKinnon go and save $4.5M [but leaves $4M in dead money]

Manny Sanders and Armstead are their biggest priorities, surely?
team has a out on Juszczyk. Paying $5.2M for a FB is dumb when its more than the next 2 FB's combined. can save like $4M cutting him then resign him at a lower rate.

Armstead might of priced himself out.
Jimmy Ward is up, the CB Moseley is up currently on like $600K. Starting C and a few backups on the DL also out.

The list of veterans at the Vikings that could be cut is quite long. Rhodes, Griffen, and Joseph are all overpaid and might go. Added to that is the problem that most DBs (Waynes, Alexander, Harris and Kearse) are all free agents. Big changes coming for the Vikings defence....

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports free agent Greg Olsen will visit the Bills and Redskins this week.
Olsen, 35 next month, was officially released by the Panthers today and is free to sign elsewhere immediately. He wants to keep playing, and there are ties in both Buffalo and D.C. Bills GM Brandon Beane came over from Carolina, and new Redskins coach Ron Rivera obviously coached Olsen for a number of years. Washington has the bigger need at the position at the moment.

The Chargers announced Philip Rivers will enter free agency.
"I've said before that Philip can still compete at a top-starter level and, in a perfect world, number 17 is your quarterback forever," GM Tom Telesco stated in his press release. "Obviously, we live in an imperfect world where the only constant is change." The Chargers have a lot of moving pieces to address this offseason, but Rivers was always expected to be on his way out given the circumstances. The veteran closes his 16-year tenure with the organization as the franchise's all-time leader in completions (4,908), passing yards (59,271), and passing touchdowns (397), having started every game for the Chargers since 2006. The Buccaneers and Colts have both popped up as potential landing spots for the 38-year-old signal-caller this offseason.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports free agent Greg Olsen is expected to sign with a team by the end of the week.
It's been a hectic few days for Olsen, who announced an XFL game for Fox on Sunday before traveling to D.C. for Monday's meeting with the Redskins. His free-agent tour will continue Wednesday when he visits the Seahawks. The former Panther also held a sit-down with the Bills last week. The veteran expects to make a decision on his next team by the end of the week. A 13-year vet with three 1,000-yard receiving seasons on his NFL resume, Olsen turns 35 next month.

Did I miss a chargers lead press conference to announce the parting of ways with one of the franchises best players ever or are they genuinely just a s**t organisation who didn't do one?

Seattle seems a nice landing spot, teaming up with Ed Dickson again. 👍
