Tally so far (Updated March 15th - after round 5)

POTY:
8 - Anne Hatchard
4 - Jess Foley
4 - Sarah Allan
3 - Courtney Gum
3 - Danielle Ponter
3 - Erin Phillips
2 - Ebony Marinoff
2 - Angela Foley
1 - Rhiannon Metcalfe

ROTY:
1 - Rachelle Martin
1 - Caitlin Gould
1 - Najwa Allen
1 - Nikki Gore

Perhaps a bit late since we already missed round 1, but I figured we should have the standard POTY thread going to see who we think is the best player this season. I'm happy to collate totals.

Give your top five players (from Adelaide only), where 5 means best player (so worth five votes), 4 means second best, etc. I'll produce a final top three for each round in terms of highest votes.

Round 1:

5. Anne Hatchard
4. Jess Foley
3. Sarah Allan
2. Danielle Ponter
1. Dayna Cox

Round 2:

5. Courtney Gum
4. Jess Foley
3. Sarah Allan
2. Anne Hatchard
1. Angela Foley

I'm also interested in doing rookie of the year but not sure on what the eligiblity criteria should be. Perhaps under the age of 25 and less than two seasons on the list (so recruited 2018 or 2019 drafts)? Perhaps there should be a limit on games played? Or perhaps I can just pick a list of "sensible" eligible players. What do you guys think?

Edit: The following players are eligible for rookie of the year.

Nikki Gore
Montana McKinnon
Jaimi Tabb
Caitlin Gould
Madison Newman
Nicole Campbell
Najwa Allen
Rachelle Martin

My votes for the first two rounds:

Round 1: Rachelle Martin
Round 2: Caitlin Gould

I think there should be a games limit. Bouncing off AFLM, where the criteria is 10 games (which typlcally would be out of, say, 45 games) make it ~ 4 games?

I reckon compromise and make it 2 fold; has to be drafted after 2018 and under 4 games at start of the year.

That gives it a large enough pool as it makes these players eligible; Gore, McKinnon, Tabb, Gould, Newman, R.Martin, Campbell and Allen. Just select the top 1 of the week.

Rookie:
Round 1: R.Martin
Round 2: Newman

Happy to go with this, although there should be some age limit. Allen is 25, Campbell is 26. Not sure how I feel about including them as rookies. I'm willing to take discussion on it! For now I'll update the first post to include the eligible players.

My votes for the first two rounds:

Round 1: Rachelle Martin

Considering how late some women have come to the game, I think have no age limit at this time is perfectly acceptable.

Round 4

5. Hatchard
4. Gore
3. Metcalfe
2. Phillips
1. Mules

Rookie: Gore

Tough to find. No defenders or Forwards deserve them.

5. Hatchard - Played amazing. Was spent by the end and it showed. But best a field (for us) by far
4. Phillips - Was a little sloppy with 2 or 3 mistakes but when we only have 3 players get more than 10 disposals, its slim pickings
3. Rajcic - Seemed to stop a few forward thrusts
2. Marinoff - Yeah, yeah, she isn't damaging. But she isn't catastrophic like she had been in the past. Reminds me exactly of Matt Crouch. Link Woman. Get out of jail free card.
1. S.Allan - Wanted to abstain but I remember there was someone else in the backline I didn't mind their games. I think it was Allan, but I could've been wrong.

1. Forth

Rookie: Martin

Round 2:
5 Gumm (last quarter brilliance)
4 Allan S

Rookie: Gould

Round 3:
5 Ponter
4 Marinoff
3 Foley (J)
2 Foley (A)
1 Allen (N)

Rookie: Allen.

Late picks - but I'll allow them. They actually change the round 2 results a bit, which is fine. Sarah Allan overtakes Hatchard to swap 2nd/3rd places, and Gould is the sole ROTY nominee for that round now.

Round 3 results:

#1 Danielle Ponter (31 votes)
#2 Jess Foley (29 votes)
#3 Sarah Allan (16 votes)

Ebony Marinoff (15 votes)
Angela Foley (9 votes)
Najwa Allen (3 votes)
Justine Mules (2 votes)

Rookie of the year:

Najwa Allen (4 votes)

So, the updated leaderboard:

POTY:
4 - Anne Hatchard
4 - Jess Foley
4 - Sarah Allan
3 - Courtney Gum
3 - Danielle Ponter

ROTY:
1 - Rachelle Martin
1 - Caitlin Gould
1 - Najwa Allen

It's a damn tight board! I've updated the first post with the new leaderboard.
