Non-lions discussion 2020

GC game plan for the year pretty clear - bulk numbers back to combat their lack of mature key backs.
Chip, create and run on the rebound.
I like them. They’ll show enough this year.
Rowell is a pure footballer.

I’ll hold back on judgement of Geelong, especially after 1/4 of Pre Season.
But there is nothing exciting me about them. They’ll bully a few teams at home sure but this season they will get found out more often than previous years.

Probably not a the best sign that Geelong look like they're trying to avoid sore bodies as much as try new things

Where do we think the Suns are at the moment? I reckon they're on the right track. Five wins would be a pass mark I think.

Remind me of us two years ago. Don't have the skills and experience to execute a a sophisticated game plan, but they're fully committing and trying to let their intensity do the work. Would definitely be buying stock

If Rayner doesn't quite make it as the next Dusty, I could settle for today's version of Christian Petracca. Wow he looked good today.

Pre season specialist. I hope he's at least better than Petracca.

Pffft, forget about Petracca, Cutler single handedly tore up the dees the other day. I'd be happy if Rayner makes it as the next Tom Cutler.. .. No, wait....

LOL cats. Just glad the sun's get to know how all their second half opponents felt last year when one team didn't show up

Geelongs fringe and second stringers are borderline awful. Surely those are the types wanting to put their hands up.
Top tier teams don’t train all summer hanging for a real hit out to play like this.

I think the Suns are being underestimated by the AFL in general. Their main problem has been depth and injuries. The past 2 years they have started strong before injuries expose their lack of depth and talent and then the season falters. The extended list lets the Suns keep way more talent in their list so they dont have to expose NEAFL quality players to the AFL after their list gets decimated with injuries. They have mature bodies in most of their tall roles. This off season they have added significant talent to their midfielder/small roles. Small players can quickly jump up to AFL standard. Rowell and Anderson both looked capable today. I think we can expect a fair few upsets from the Suns in the early parts of the season and just after the bye when their talented youngsters are rested up. I am much more bullish on the mix of talent and youngsters on the Suns list than lists like the Swans/Port etc

Did anyone else go to the game? Was funny the Geelong fans down the opposite end start cooeeing to the cats in the last qtr the ball barely got down there

When it’s a lions v gc grand final is it still a q clash? Will both trophies presented to the winner?

"and as captain Dayne Zorko chooses to lift the Q-clash cup instead of premiership cup and bellows of Queenslander ring out across the mcg from fans in their maroons and cowboys jumpers we can finally say that Queensland has ruined the afl, as so many feared for so long"

Wouldn’t that be a hoot.

On that glorious day, pineapple will be finally compulsory on all pizzas.
