Autopsy Autopsy vs St Kilda

I was told before the season that the membership stuff was held up coming out of China. I was emailed a replica to get into the Richmond game with. Mine didn’t arrive in time to take to a single game. I do not give a s**t.

You don't care. I don't care either. Tens of thousands of supporters who are not one-eyed supporters do care. Club isn't going to survive if it is just down to the likes of you and me, that level of support isn't enough.

If other clubs can get their memberships out despite issues in China we are obviously doing something wrong. If we don't improve it is going to cost us a lot of membership revenue. it is one thing to ask loyal supporters to stay loyal, but the club should be doing everything possible to prevent membership churn.

It was an absolute s**t start, a better team would have nailed the coffin.
We need to start better than that to be taken seriously

That's fine but the game is only halfway over and posters were making some ridiculous and stupid statements. It was the first half of the opening game of the year and posters went to water except Snake who correctly identified the issues to address instead of carrying on like a pork chop like most did. Now if they weren't addressed and we produced a second half similar to the first then I would get the angst to a point.

This sticking the boots in at every opportunity at players and club on this board is reaching shithouse levels.

Have some faith in the new regime from the start at least ffs.

So with ziebell injured, this actually frees up 2 spots. We can now bring in an actual forward who is fit such as Hosie or Garner, then it also removes the conundrum of needing ziebell in the middle. As i have said many times, this bloke is a liability in the middle and he is clearly unfit hence he is top heavy, slow and not too nimble. The midfield rotation is pretty good with Cunnington as the brute strength close quarter specialist, the rest all all rather nimble, aggressive with good repeated effort. The likes of Anderson, Simpkin, Higgins, Thomas all have good leg speed so they could cover the ground well and should be good defensively. Hall got through the match unscathed and that's always a bonus.

Do you live in a cave?

We didn’t hold on, we came from nowhere and completely shut them out of the game.

The only thing that kept this alive to the final siren was abysmal, one sided, unfathomable, disgusting umpiring.

We were disallowed an opportunity to kick a goal due to a throwing decision on Taylor that looked a handball, yet that knobhead Jones tried to bust through two tackles and just drops it and it’s all good play on.

Those spuds can go into this extended break knowing that even at our worst, with the umpires felating them, that they are still a giant shittruck.

We held on against the umps and St Kilda when the game was right on the line.

I forgot a line about coming back from a 300% deficit. 5 goals down when you got less that three was unreal.

I knew we'd win that game too. Before half time. I had an inkling we could do it and then within 10 seconds complete belief. Hard to explain. I knew we'd come out differently in the second half.

As for you, this is the 4th post you have ripped into Jack in 4 different threads, one on the St Kilda board where you said they would have won if Jack stayed on you flog . How the * would you know that and then bang on about to the opposition camp. Dickhead.

The way our defense stood up when we effectively only had Tarrant to cover three tall forwards was absolutely outstanding. Team defense across the ground in the second half excellent too. Obviously wasn't a great overall start to the match, and you wouldn't want to leave it that late every week, but overall, impressed.

I don't have the stats, but I can't recall a time when we were undermanned in the backline and held off the opposition and got a W under Brad from opposition onslaught.

The only occasions I can think of are when we have been fundamentally more dominant and haven't allowed the opposition to get much footy into their F50. But when the game is in the balance, I think we relied too much on Petrie to go back and help us. Or thrown a forward down there.

The backline was sensational today. Especially when Walker and Ahern went down. Kudos to Shaw.

I hope the JMac bashers watch a replay of the game. There is nothing wrong pointing out when a player has a bad game, but you should also point out when they have a good game as well. He was exceptional with his defensive efforts today.

Goals anyone?

Cunners the match winner but looking back was Jy literally involved in all our scoring chains.
And he was there at the death.
He should share honors definitely.
Was everywhere.

Wouldn't that require the ability to exhibit rational judgement?

He was great. I actually worried that the shorter games might hurt him but it seemed to have the opposite effect - best I've seen him for quite a while.
Best game since his last two to finish 2018.
What was better was his use.
Was the best by foot along with Jy.

Spot on.

The performances on here after the Doggies praccy game (yes a praccy game) were shameful. I made a decision after that not to look at any posts during a game or near after. It’s just too frustrating to read.

I can only imagine the dribble that was being posted over the half time break.

Right back to the footy 😁

Terrible first half but some good individual performances kept us in it. Goldy, Atley, JMac, Dumont, Tarrant and Polec were good while their teammates were poo.

In the second half Shaw changed it up a bit in the midfield and obviously put it on the team to be more physical because that is what turned the game. Simpkin was brilliant after half time as was his partner in crime, Cunners who was superb. The addition of Hall and Thomas in the centre bounces was pivotal in getting the ball moving our way.

Curtis Taylor, I only have one word, STAR. This kid in the third quarter was so good, he makes things happened and seeing him, Thomas and Simpkin leading the revival with Cunners was awesome. It's exactly what we've been waiting to see.

I love the quality of our kids, I can see 5 A graders in this lot at least.

Bring on round 2 in 10 weeks. We can at least revel in a stirring second half win during that time.

The ol’ “sky is falling” game, yep I remember it well!

Still cracks me up how some people react around here in the off-season..

LOL at the bedwetting on here about Fat Brad prior to the game like he was some sort of Boogeyman.... completely went missing in the 2nd half

When it got physical. He's soft

I think Hill plays a position which is fairly to tag out of a game. I'm surprised more teams don't tag similar players who rely on teammates to win the ball. It baffles me that no team just stands someone next to Andrew Gaff. When Hill gets the ball in space, and has time to use it, I expect him to hit leading targets. If the Roos didn't have someone trying to keep up with him, I don't think they would have had a win today.

Pittard should never be forced to play KPD
even before the walker injury he was forced to do so due to us going short in defence
Can't think of one of their key forwards who had an influence. King was useless apart from 2 gifts and Membrey was average. Considering we lost Walker early in the game which left us short (in height), I thought Pittard and JMac were fantastic today in covering that loss.

Both were out marked by bigger blokes over the day but they didn’t get dominated due to lack of quality supply

a smarter team would have exploited them

How many times were they out marked in front of goal?

You are underestimating their games because JMac is one of those players who stepped up today especially in the first half and you cannot admit that.
