Shorter games = less advertising revenue.

Not going to happen.
Have to disagree with ya there. They will find a way. AFL probably already have an algorithm that equates time of Q’s to stoppages to goals to opportunity to advertise. I think the shorter Q’s will be here to stay.
Just my opinion though.

Shorter quarters will lead to a higher quality product. It might also lead to more impact injuries and strains due to more explosive movements.

Less endurance more speed and power.

More game time = more goals = more ads after each goal.


I'm sure the AFL will have researched this and determined that the ad-buying market is at saturation already. There's no more money to siphon. May as well start charging a higher price for less available product and see how that goes.
