Fitzroy's Fabulous Century: The 100 Greatest Victories, 1897-1996

On the Royal theme, I recall seeing this flag (or something quite similar to it) at many a Fitzroy game

I reckon that flag would be worth a pretty penny these days.
It may be gathering dust in an old Royboy's storeroom.

To give people a genuine chance of selecting my top 10 Fitzroy wins and thus winning a book, I've reduced the number of candidates from 20 to 15.
Mathematically, there are 3003 possible combinations of 10 from 15 which is a bit scary.
However, some of the 15 are "locks" for the Top 10.
Roylion is the current leader with 7, and for each entry I'll tell you what your score is (but not which games you got wrong).
Should you want to buy a copy (and I'd be very happy if you did!), the cost is $30 including postage (2 books = $55 all up).
My website (www.fitzroypete.com.au) lady is currently upgrading the Checkout giving you the option of paying with Paypal or by Direct Deposit (DD).
If you PM me, I can give you my DD details.
I might be biased, but I think you'll enjoy the read.

A couple of others I went to:
1981 Round 7 vs Richmond (Junction) down by 40, came back to win by 4. Scott Clayton's first game. I was allowed into the rooms before the game and met Mick Conlan
1981 Round 22 vs Collingwood (Vic Park) held Pies goalless in first half - in the mud - to guarantee a finals berth.

The J Dog, that's a pretty good attempt.
You scored 7 out of 10, but feel free to have another go.
Both the 1981 games you mentioned are in the Top 100.
If anybody still wants to buy a copy of Fitzroy's Fabulous Century, I have plenty of copies available, with the price now reduced to $25.

J Dog, you and RoyLion are both missing two of the same Top 10 games.
The third one you and RL are missing differs.

Final guess.

8 out of 10, JDog.
You're the clubhouse leader.

Just finished reading this FitzroyPete - sadly I never got to see many a lot of your top 100 games, but the amount of research, love and your own personal flair that you put in to this book made it a very enjoyable read. Well done mate.
Now I'm off to read about a Dreamer, Drifter, Drunk.

Broken, thanks very much for your wonderfully kind words about "Fitzroy's Fabulous Century".
Like you, I saw very few of the Top 100 victories.
I hope you enjoy "Dreamer, Drifter, Drunk" - I make sure Fitzroy and my beloved East Perth get a few mentions.

Nice to visit this site of the Fitzoy club, I used to go to both Fitzroy, and Junction oval with my Dad who was a Lions follower.

I remember well this great founding club of the Vfl and Afl.

Cheers Lions

It was a shame Fitzroy had to leave the Junction Oval, andon, as we built a pretty handy home-ground advantage there between 1970 and 1984.
We won 75 of 135 games (56% win rate) at the Junction in those 15 seasons, a record that we only bettered at the Brunswick Street ground (57%).
