Dan Andrews by the look of it.

So who is calling the shots? National Cabinet?
Anyone that believes in personal freedoms and civil liberties knows what type of person that Andrews is. Absolute scum.
Look, as far as I am concerned, the manufacturing of Personal Protective Equipment, medical masks and equipment and medicines in general, must be manufactured in Australia because if anyone needed convincing that these things are part of the national interest and critical to the welfare and wellbeing of Australia, then these times surely have convinced even the most sceptical.
The right wing, Thatcherite Governments that we have saddled ourselves with have gutted the CSIRO, destroyed the research and innovations industries and have gutted the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Services in order to transfer the "savings", into the pockets of overseas conglomerates and the wealthy few. They have opened us up and left us at the mercy of the "markets".
It's not "socialism" or anything like that, it is common sense. We should not be relying on any other country or "market" for these critical things at anytime let alone in times such as these and what we also need, is Governments to ban the sale of such items to anyone/country until such time as there are more than enough of these materials stockpiled to meet the requirements of a pandemic/epidemic at a minutes notice.
These tragic and desperate times must ram home to us, that is, all Australian citizens, that we need to be prepared for such eventualities and not allow such a situation to arise where we are as ill-prepared as we were this time around.
We need to do what is required at whatever cost because after all, it's not as if we are a nation that is resource poor - we have vast wealth and that wealth belongs to all of us and must be used to protect our lives and not solely for making profits for multinationals and corporations.

That's just it. What we need is an aggressively Australian Government doing things for Australia and it's citizens first and foremost. Hawke and Keating, Curtain and Chiffley, Gillard and Swan were all cognisant of what was happening in the world and how best for us, Australia, to make our way and if that required so called "left wing" or "right wing" or some "unique wing" policy settings or a combination of for the health and welfare of Australia and Australians, so be it.The fuel issue is a more extreme example of us needing to be self sufficent.
Not a fan of this left/right political theory, real world is we want cheap .... we reap what we sow.
Exactly!Imagine we didn't make toilet paper locally![]()

In other words it's the same as when he said that it was against the law not to self isolate and when asked by a member of the press how would the Government know if someone failed to self isolate and what the fine would be, Scotty-from-marketing said that people should dob them in and that the fine was a matter for the States. In other words, don't f****ng worry about how it's going to work or even if it's true, just listen to my great words! I'm Scott Morrison, I'm the greatest, I'm going to heaven and you can all go and get f***ed if you don't think that I'm the best. It's been passed to the S/Ts to enact in their legislation, I'm pretty sure.
From what I can see, only TAS has enforced the eviction moratorium. And I'm pretty certain all S/Ts have instructed their Police around self isolation. I know that's definitely happened in NSW.In other words it's the same as when he said that it was against the law not to self isolate and when asked by a member of the press how would the Government know if someone failed to self isolate and what the fine would be, Scotty-from-marketing said that people should dob them in and that the fine was a matter for the States. He was terrible to begin with and it has been the states strong arming him to act ever since.Spot on with Dan. As for ScoMo, are you a rusted on type, he's doing a good job. Get over the last election.
The challenge for both is in front of them.
The current pandemic has greatly exposed the flaws of capitalism. Why aren’t all these millionaires simply lifting the country up by their bootstraps like they supposedly did before coronavirus? It’s almost like their ideology is garbage.
Yeah, Murdoch is looking at some serious lawsuits in the US.Precisely. State premiers and their health departments are running this show.
Murdoch/Reinhardt/Palmer/Twiggy etc have conceded and are not managing Morrisson anymore. They will not have let go of the strings entirely though.
The current pandemic has greatly exposed the flaws of capitalism.
More accurately, it's revealed the flaws of neoliberalism. The state can't help you when it's been completely hollowed out, look at the centrelink queues, those that can't access healthcare in the US, it's a farce. The current pandemic has greatly exposed the flaws of capitalism.
Yeah, Murdoch is looking at some serious lawsuits in the US.
His first response was to play politics and it has cost lives. So used to manufacturing consent, he thought the virus would bend to the will of the propaganda machine.
Twiggy was trying to make bank early correct? IIRC there were rumours of government deploying expanded use of the welfare card etc. That evaporate pretty quick. Most of these people will be in their private bunkers, waiting this thing out.

Given my income, I wonder what I'd have to donate to be equally as generous as Twiggy. I reckon I could spare a couple of dollars.Instead of making comments like that try researching them, especially Twiggy. If he is in a bunker, he's doing plenty, Google news Minderoo Foundation & choke on China.
How come no one is praising my generosity, we're all so eager to praise the billionairesGiven my income, I wonder what I'd have to donate to be equally as generous as Twiggy. I reckon I could spare a couple of dollars.

I think the whole snapback idea is is fanciful.Anyone think the “job keeper” package will be enough? My industry (aviation) has been destroyed and will probably take 18 months to recover, and those industries that we directly feed, well, they’ll take just as long, if not longer...6 months of “job keeper” seems a little optimistic to me...then again I know a good place to buy a used A380...that could cover a few of our salaries.![]()
