Dear West Coast and Freo, we need to talk.

West Australians: Unwarranted victim mentality?

  • Yes, I'm sick of the whinging shits.

  • No, they have a legitimate complaint.

  • I'm from SA and we're even worse!

  • J.Watts loathes politicians exploiting a pandemic for popularity

Why cry about it when a simple Google search would have given you the answer yesterday?
Chin up mate.

No crying here. I already knew the answer. Just wanted to 'hear' the words come out of your crayon covered lips.

They've never had to play there. Exhibition matches don't count.

We could have just not gone? Nice.
So I assume in 2021 West Coast will just boycott any games which involve travel then.

Not really but if you compare it to the Tigers who played 8 of their last 9 games for 2019 at the MCG then it kinda seems a bit excessive.

What is Hawthorns home ground though?
I would be just as surprised as them to know the answer to this. 🤔

YES!!! Precisely.

It was an off-season exhibition match organised/scheduled by the Tigers themselves. It wasn't fixtured by the AFL. No premiership points involved etc.
Unfortunately if this is an example of the intelligence on display by the Richmond faithful then we have no chance of communication at a sensible level. Good on you for trying Crankitup.

How many interstate club supporters are AFL members?

The funds from the AFL members that goes into general revenue are not equally distributed.

In the last 20 years, every single Victorian team has been given more money from the AFL than the Dockers.

So Fremantle and West Coast get nothing from the AFL members.

The NFL Super Bowl every year is in a different city. The Last Super Bowl had a crowd of 62 400.

By the way, their are stadiums that are 100k but the NFL see the value of moving the Super Bowl every year.

Consider the tickets prices would be higher at lower capacity ground. Plus, that States tourism board can sponsor the game.

The benefits of having the grand final at the G would be extremely little. In fact, in the Northern states it would advance the game.

The reality is that the grand final benefits the MCC, Victorian AFL members, Victorian clubs and the Victorian economy.

None of what you said actually refutes my point.

The AFL distributes their money unequally, this is well known. Like it or not, it's a socialist organisation. Though I daresay by now there'd at least be a few Crows or Eagles in the AFL members. :rainbow:

Still, the reserve still generates revenue for the AFL and adds more fans to the game, that is an irrefutable fact.

The Superbowl reference just shows that your knowledge of the NFL is insignificant. Firstly, the capitalist nature of the NFL dictates that those with the most money get into the game, it's not like here with memberships and sub-$200 GF tickets. Secondly, the NFL does not rotate to every market of it's 32 teams because thirdly, hosting the Superbowl is generally tied to newly built stadiums, it's a political carrot used to get local and state governments to put up over a billion dollars for a privately owned venue that gets used 8 times a year. I could go on but why bother...

As for who the GF location benefits, well no s**t. Though that's not an insurmountable barrier if someone ever bothered to put it to the test.

B.S, Victoria (and Eddy) were never going to allow the grand final to be played anywhere else. Perth could have built a 100,000 capacity stadium and Victoria would still pretend it does not exist. Vic gov and AFL equals dirty deeds done dirt cheap. Thats why the deal was done undercover and at night.

Except you don't know that for certain because it never got that far (Eddie doesn't run the AFL, despite how many people believe he is the football bogeyman). Had that eventuated, Perth folks would have every right to be angry, currently though it's just childish and misplaced whining that overlooks the fact that any chance of hosting a GF died when Perth Stadium was locked in as a 60k capacity venue.

Despite all the b***hurt that's come since, the Grand Final was never moving under the current stadium setup. Perth and Adelaide locked themselves into boutique stadiums for 30+ years, all the AFL did was formalise in writing what they were going to do anyway, and extracted a nice sum from the Victorian government for doing so. WA will get their chance in 30-40 years, I guess then we'll see if you've learnt anything. :rainbow:

Hey, Everyone is entitled to make More money than North Melbourne, this is not descrimination towards any club :)

Your team richmond has the right to do it, So does West coast, So does Carlton, so does Hawthorn, so does the crows regardless on their (Power) stance or Any other AFL club.

Absolutely true, but when you just get taxed anyway what's the point.

I guess you are referring to me as West Aussie and are not cluey enough to read the little writing to the left? Does it not appall you that the contract is locked in for the next 40 years? How boring how predictable, how mundane. There could be a world class stadium built in the next decade, Optus has a capacity for another 20,000 seats, the world could end. And still we must play in the "Grey monstrosity" because its the home of football. No it isn't, it's the home of Aussie cricket and the old boys club.

It is a pretty great stadium when packed to the rafters though.

Who cares if they play the Grand Final at Optus anyway. West Coast would ask for it to be moved to a neutral venue as they don't want teams to have an unfair advantage.

Ok I will give you 4 Options.....

Option 1: Become Richmond/Collingwood/essendon, Play at the MCG have 90 thousand members, Average 40-60,000 a game at the MCG on Average and pull in 3-5 million in Profit a year.

Option 2: Become Geelong. Play in Kardinia which holds 36,000 seats. Average 30-35,000 a game at that ground and pull in 1.5-2 million in Profit.

Option 3: Become like North or Dogs or Saints. Play in a 55,000 seat Docklands, average 15-20,000 seat a game and lose 2-4 million a year due to high rent and Complain on Big footy main board on how North is saving the AFL from bankruptcy even though North Pull 15-20,000 a game or even 25,000 if you are lucky.

Option 4: Become the crows. Play in a decent venue in Adelaide Oval averaging 40,000 a game. Do that stupid crazy crows stance and Pretend your as tough as Tough man tony abbott wearing budgie smugglers.

Now common sense is Option 1.

Option 2 isnt bad either, your not making as much money but at least your pulling your weight financially.

Reasons to go on footballing junket to W.A

1. Better weather all the time
2. Chicken Treat
3. Can see space aliens on the Nullabor
4. Population of ex-pat Saffers means good braai is never too far away
5. Perth metallers Allegiance reforming and playing gigs each and every night

Okay the fifth one might be wishful thinking but there's space aliens in Western Australia. Honest!
