Anddddd we're back!

This should be an interesting one. We surprisingly have a good record against the Eagles at Metricon (we beat them last time and the time before was a draw) so this may not be as one-sided as some think. We seem to match up well against West Coast and have even had some admirable losses to them in Perth.

McGovern v King should be a fascinating match up.

Harbs and Sexton definitely come in for this one and I really hope Rankine also gets to debut. For mine, Holman and Joyce go out with Lemmens potentially making way for a debuting Rankine. I fear Rory won't be fit for this game but if he is I'd bring him in for Caleb Graham. Actually I'd play Hombsch ahead of Graham anyway.

What does everyone else think?

Best 22 is interesting now. Something like this;

B - Harbrow Thompson. Hombsch
HB - Luko. Collins. Bowes
C. - Anderson. Greenwood. Ellis
Foll - Witts. Weller. Rowell
HF - sexton. Day. Swallow
F - Rankine. King. Ainsworth

Int - Fiorini, Miller, Lemmens, Budarick

Close - Brodie, Joyce, Hanley, Powell, Sharp, Hanley, Miles

Could slice this many different ways though.

Lineups?
West coast has a QUICK forward line and midfield. They have so many good intercept markers In defence - we’ll need to hit up our faster forwards instead of bombing.

Last time we played west coast we let them get out of the blocks.
8-2 goals first half
We kicked 7 of the first 8 goals in the second half to be 11 points back with 5 mins left before west coast steadied late.

goals: Wright 2, Powell 2, Miles, Bowes, Holman, sexton 1.

possessions: harbrow 30, Martin 29, miles 26, swallow 22, fiorini 20.

West coast midfield dominated with shirt, yep, gaff, sheed combining for 126 possessions, 3 goals and 26 tackles.
Jack darling kicked 4 goals.

Rory Thompson (knee) will be ready for a late-June return for a Suns side that had double-figure injuries by Round 1.
This was in the Herald Sun late last week. Anyone know if there's truth to it? I have seen conflicting reports about Rory saying he'll be available and ready to go for round 2 and then there's this report saying he probably won't be ready until round 4.

Having Rory and Collins both play would be massive for us in our attempts to keep Josh Kennedy and Jack Darling quiet.

Pretty close to my reckoning but I'd have Miller in for Flanders, and have him lock down Shuey. Just think 2x 1st gamers and 2x 2nd gamers might be one too many against WCE. I'd give Flanders his debut against Freo or Adelaide. And if Miles doesn't come up then I'd have Holman or Lemmens.

Does Budarick get selected in this one or did he not do enough to impress in round 1? I know bringing back Harbrow is a big factor as well.

Without Swallow, who will do the brunt of the work in the middle? Surely Greenwood can't do it all on his own...

Probably the right call to have Miller over Flanders, only put Flanders in because Dew said he has been hitting the track hard with Ainsworth.

Can move Bowes and Darcy in there, Brodie should be able to begin to lift his own weight as well in there as a clearance player, Touk can also play an in and under role if needed.

Budarick makes way for Harbrow IMO. Experience is what we desperately need in that D50.

I think Budarick had a good debut for sure but Harbrow needs to come in for experience, against the likes of Ryan and Cripps

The D50 is actually experienced. Harbs, Hanley, Thompson. Throw in Hombsch as well and it's a battle hardened crew. Collins also comes in. Luko and Ballard the youngsters.
Definitely. Those first four you mentioned are in the age range of 27-31 and have all played over 100 games, with Harbrow racking up close to 250 now.

As long as they're also fit / still athletic enough!
