Always thought this car was a little under rated, the Brabham BT52 which Nelson Piquet drove to the title in 1983.



Also, here is a diagram listed the evolution of the Brabham F1 cars.
A number of classics from an iconic F1 name.

That car makes me think of this transformers toy I had as a kid, haha.

Dave Thorpe's 1986 factory RCM 500................... apparently a build cost to Honda to the tune of about $100k, at the time

Both the above were limited to 100 bhp and had to weigh 100kg for competition rules (usually a weight ballast was added). Hard to imagine that these blokes were good enough to use all that power.

Are they the scooters that are used to retrieve drivers of real machinery when there is a breakdown/crash?

I've never seen an attractive dirt bike, not even in a magazine......

Hey Hey Hey, these are serious (and seriously good looking) machines! An off the shelf 2T mxer has a higher power to weight ratio than any other machinery you can buy, Respect bruhs! - certainly beat one of these! Lol

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as the old sayin goes.

I can respect and marvel at the technical side, but it's like calling Kathy Bates good looking

Those tractors though..... I do like.

Like I said, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I would use your Kathy Bates analogy for those tractors. I am sure there are others that may find race dirt bikes attractive Klyntonius comes to mind.

As for you, that penchant for finding tractors attractive could be seen as unhealthy.
The green one no, the red tractor is a nice looking vehicle.

Dirt bikes aren't that at all, and generally fit the profile of those who ride them.

Again from your perspective, tractors are also not attractive at all depending on who you are. Also fits the profile of those who find them attractive.

Correct.

Like I said, can certainly respect the machinery and marvel at what they can do.

But I don't see a bloke ride by on one and go "wow that looks nice"

I've never seen an attractive dirt bike, not even in a magazine......

I can kinda understand that. Dirt bikes for the most part are very much function over form. An engine, frame, suspension, handlebars and wheels with minimal plastics left for styling. Also, aesthetically dirt bikes have changed very little over the past 25-30 years. Only keen fans could really tell the difference between a 1997 model and a 2017 model. For me, I find the stripped down nature of dirt bikes can be quite attractive, particularly 2-strokes and with the right colour schemes.

Whilst it is a bit blingy, this silver/chrome KX250 Ryan Villopoto had knocked up just looks svelte, powerful and just super trick.

In terms of actual racing liveries, the old ciggie sponsored Yamaha colour schemes are quite iconic.

Jeremy McGrath's '96 CR250 is probably the most popular bike of all time.

But for me being team green, nothing beats the early 90's KX250s like these from 1992. The epitome of cool.
