Discussion Worst ever jumper clashes

Last nights Eels v Broncos was worse.

Both jerseys had a dark top half (maroon and the royal blue seemed darker) and yellow bottom half.

Not the worst of clashes but Broncos away to the Eels in 2004–06 was thoroughly ugly:

The hoops don't even match up on either side of the side panel, though that might be the camera angle playing a trick
Nope. They literally don't match up

The stripes did line up, the wide side panel allowed it to not look that way when the jersey was stretched.

And the game was less of a clash that what it appeared. The butchers stripes and blue shoulders of the Dogs jerseys made a solid difference.

I mean... it's not great. The slow-mo replay of the two players going up for the catch(?) looks like they're nearly on the same team.

That's on the Storm though: Canterbury wear a predominantly light jersey at home with dark shorts, and they brought a light jersey with dark shorts to face them. Should have been fined.

Not an ideal matchup between the All Blacks and the Wallabies in dark green.
Would be terrible in Rules but in this kind of sport it's no biggie.

Edit: yeah on second look it's not amazing!

Thought this was an interesting part of the article:

'When the Premier League receive the kit choices from the clubs they run the software and highlight if it could be a kit clash. Then it's up to the clubs to decide.'

Premier League and the other EFL Leagues are examples of what should be done in the AFL.
Think this is what the AFL is trying to do at the moment isn't it? Favouring a light vs dark jumper matchup. Quite similar to what happens in basketball + baseball.

The AFL struggle with the concept of contrasting colours, eg richmond v north both in colour. I don’t mind seeing a green v red game, because it works to a normal eye and the colours are composite.
Also what classifies as a dark colour and light colour is not consistent across all 18 clubs, red and gold/yellow. This needs to be the sorted and and it be okay for clubs to have “light” coloured home jumpers

Yes and no.... Because as long as the white shorts rule and Big 4 rule is in play, it won't happen properly.

I can't remember too many clashes in the NBA, this surely must go down as the worst.

Yeah no idea how this got permitted, especially when the league pre-approves jersey matchups well in advance. There is precedent of this happening too.
