Yeah the AFL agree with you but it seems many in the public don’t. He cried that the AFL isn’t flexible and that Melbourne and Essendon have already prepared for each other.

The other point the AFL had was Essendon haven’t trained since Saturday.
The AFL has far bigger fixture problems to worry about. This breach has removed any goodwill the AFL had and all the state governments will be looking to pick the AFL's pockets in the meantime.

Don’t want to hear about communities needing to go into lock down again. I will not go into lockdown because a cluster of 5 is active in my community. I’m happy to spend 14 minutes with the entire population, this has been the best news for all of us, the message has never been clearer.
Thanks

Another balls up from DHHS. And they wonder why people are out and about, breaking the rules extensively.

I’m certainly more confused now. I feel pretty safe now in a covid hotspot after hearing the real requirements.
Passing people is fine, as is touching the same objects.
Distancing isn’t a thing as long as you ain’t their wrestling partner.
Can I cuddle anyone I like for 14 minutes?

This isn’t to do with the AFL, it’s all on the joke that is the DHHS. Hopefully we get lucky and no one else contracts it and we get a full season.
Mate you are being naïve here the AFL are involved in influencing the result here

We haven’t because we haven’t needed one
Most medical experts I’ve heard are extremely confident of one being achieved, though not until next year.

I think next year is extremely ambitious. Some may even say delusional.
We still don't have a vaccine for SARS (also a coronavirus) and that was 18 years ago.
Wouldnt be surprised at all if COVID-19 turns out to be exactly like that, and it's just something we have to live with indefinitely.

They did

One spud sits out after not playing seniors for two years anyway. Very convenient for the AFL.

Any chance of CAS coming over the top?
Yes, I don’t know why Collingwood, Richmond and West Coast have this dick measuring contest over who is the most powerful club in the comp when it’s clearly Essendon. I mean what other club wields power over the DHHS and has a direct line to Dan the Man 🙄

I’m pretty sure the DHHS is more concerned about saving lives than a footy club having it’s full compliment of players

1000% this as Gills hands all over it.. We have to shut down whole schools because one student/teacher tests positive... yet somehow only 1 player that was involved in a group training, touching the same footy, sharing the same space as this player is considered a risk..

How is this possible, spits on his hands marks the ball then passes it off, and this was Friday from all reports.
I don't understand....

The exemptions for AFL around distancing is undoubtedly horrible messaging. You may say the above jokingly but in reality many, many individuals, particularly young individuals decisions and actions will be influenced. It's not something the AFL particularly cares about when it suits.

So put the Vic teams into hubs interstate after serving the 14 day quarantine. It is that simple. You can then relax rules around training, going for coffee etc. It makes perfect sense.
I'm ok with that. I think we're heading for something like that anyway if we want the season to continue.

Just luck that Carlton potentially get an undermanned Essendon, just like it was luck the Bulldogs got to face GWS missing Kelly, Greene and Whitfield (for 3/4).
And Taranto. That's 4 of their absolute guns missing. I doubt any other team will get that luxury against the Giants. Cards fell for the Dogs.

Yeah, but all they'll do is ban Zac Clarke as well.

So we follow compliance and DHS acknowledged our impeccable record keeping and people still complain...look out for the 360 if any of their players test positive. Laughable

Why bother with any form of social distancing if wrestling/direct physical contact is how COVID is spread.

Open up the economy. Get back to normal.

The one rule. Don't touch anyone.

Yup, DHHS have sent a very mixed message with this. You're now ok to touch anyone with a known case of corona (not just social distance from anyone not in your household), and then go out and mingle/tackle with others. And they wonder why Victoria is a mess.
