I'm very happy that the Essendon side hasn't been decimated due to the positive test of McKenna but let's not pretend that Stewart hasn't been used as the sacrificial lamb to the Gods of seen to be doing the right thing.

Yeah, but all they'll do is ban Zac Clarke as well.
why would they risk 2 entire sides, and potentially more, and an entire season, plus the risk of death, for a game between Ess and Carl?Mate you are being naïve here the AFL are involved in influencing the result here

What happens if Carlton refuses to play citing an unsafe workplace?
So next week when Saad tests positive will he also blame his partner for dragging him along to a house inspection?
Because clearly there was no risk associated with the training session.
This is simply baffling. But also, no surprise that only 1 state is a risk at the moment.
Sounds more like luck than good management.
its a little confusing. Esp since McKenna was tested multiple times and it was only luck he didn't play before the result came in.I'm just confused how it all works. Clearly all over Saad, was seen licking his fingers before gathering the footy and handballing it to someone else, who would have passed the ball to another team mate etc... And weren't we told it takes 7-14 days for the virus to show up in the body? McKenna was also hugging one of the coaches... I don't get it.
Is this based on the picture of him hugging Saad?
It was outdoors, brief, without directly transfer of bodily fluids, or McKenna coughing / sneezing. In addition to Saad providing a negative test result yesterday.
I'd assume DHHS are working on the basis that any exposure was too brief and low level for Saad to contract anything.
Yes this but apparently the show must go on at the risk of everyone else that is playingits a little confusing. Esp since McKenna was tested multiple times and it was only luck he didn't play before the result came in.
I would have thought the entire Ess side would be in quarantine for min 14 days, with preferably another 7 days after that before our next game.
I don't get why this season is so important given everything that is going on

There seems to be special rules for football clubs that are not available for the rest of the community. This has nothing to do with Essendon if another club had the same issue it would have been the same resultwhy would they risk 2 entire sides, and potentially more, and an entire season, plus the risk of death, for a game between Ess and Carl?

Andrews wouldn't look out of place in CCP uniform.Thats not fair. Why are we judging Victorias issues as a nationwide issue? Victoria did theiur own thing from day 1 re: school closures and well everything. They are their own case with their own issues.
No chance McGowan for example would let Eagles play in the same circumstances but Andrews just doesnt operate the same way
That's why they allowed a large protest over a dead guy in... what was the city again?
It just means they all took the same risk of having players from the same line in the same groups.Nah, listening to several other coaches over the last few days & they we're all following very similar protocols to those Essendon were.
& obviously it's worked, be happy!
But why are we stuck at home waiting for results when we get tested if its safe for us to go out and about and have brief contact with others ?
