It's incredible to be honest, the covid-19 outbreak was Trumps greatest opportunity to guarantee his re-election and he has absolutely blown it. Every world leader with half a brain has seen surges in popularity by acting like an actual leader.

What was Nancy Pelosi thinking when she travelled to Chinatown on the day Trump announced his China travel ban and quarantine and told people it is very safe here and I hope others come.

Basically, what it tells you is that senior Democrat politicians have handled the coronavirus outbreak substantially worse and more irresponsibly than Trump but then they beheld by their vested political interests in these matters. The science of quarantine and isolation of the virus seems to be lost on these Democrat politicians their actions consistent with people that are ignorant of the science of epidemiology.

Why did China lock down all domestic travel internally by the end of January 2020 but push to keep international travel open until the end of March 2020. Whilst, this policy suppressed the virus in China, it lead to a virus explosion worldwide.

So your defence of Trump's months of underwhelming leadership is to pull up tweets and comments from the Democrats from the early days of the virus? The democrats aren't faultless in this, but at the time travel bans were not universally agreed to be the best option, and there is no way Trump wasn't using his ban as a jab at China.

However if one thing is definite, it's that racial profiling has never and will never be the approach to combating the virus, it is truly disgusting that you think that.

These comments you pull up read more like an attempt from the Dems to prevent the Asian American community from being ostracised due to the racially charged comments from Trump. Especially in mid-February while the extent of the virus in the US was still largely unknown.

Barring the travel ban on China early, Trump has performed arguably worse than any other world leader than perhaps Bolsonaro. Once the extent and severity of the virus was realised, the democrats handled the virus substantially better than Trump. They haven't thrown out pandemic playbooks and dismantled disease control teams, promoted unfounded drugs like HCQ, suggested injecting bleach or actively called on his supporters to liberate democratic states due to lockdown protocols.

You talk about people being ignorant of the science of epidemiology, yet somehow support this kind of idiot.

And no s***, no one is arguing China is blameless in this as well, but they have to answer to the entire global community for the origins and failed containment of the virus from their own country. Once the virus was shown to be in the US, the onus was on their government to lead and protect the people from the worst of it. No, racially profiling is the correct approach in combating a virus that has originated in a particular country. You have to move to contain the virus to prevent its spread in this case, lab staff, families of lab staff, community in vicinity of lab, lab city and lab country. It is little wonder that the Chinese government is attempting to cover up the origin of the virus, timelines of the virus and to muddy the waters generally - as they don't want the world to know their dirty secrets; strange how an inconvenient whistle-blower doctor would die so suddenly like he did.

Of course now it is pointless to racially profile because the virus is a pandemic but it was definitely the right approach initially. The rapid spread of this virus has a lot to do with pandering to left wing politics and news outlets that are relentless is pushing an ideology where everything is racist; BLM protests are a great idea in the middle of a pandemic; pulling down statues is liberationist. It is pathetic which is what most of the LWNJs in this echo chamber of a forum are as well.
