FFS 5 in hospital and 1 in ICU.

Victoria still has the 2nd least infections per capita.
Victoria has the 2nd most tests.

and we are waiting till July 6th for the board meeting. These numbers are as a result of behaviours 5 -10 days ago. Last weekend there were new measures introduced. Let's wait till the end of the new week to see what is happening. The numbers over the next 3-4 days will likely stay at this level.
Keep your groups of 20 training. Keep enjoying the sounds of local footy and wait with a bit of patience rather than panic. Or conversely buy some toiler paper, pasta and flour tonight.

Its not the total statistics over the past 3 months that are a worry, it's the spike.

Even more concerning is that quite a few of those who have tested positive are NOT linked to known outbreaks.

So that suggests it's far more widespread within the community than the epidemiologists are able to ascertain.

You only need to look at Singapore and Malaysia to see what happens if governments open up their communities without the people maintaining social distancing. Both countries had a second wave and were forced into re-introduction of restrictions. We want to avoid that if possible, but that may mean we stick with the current set of rules for the medium long term whilst other states open up more because they simply haven't had more outbreaks.

If junior comps play, VAFA will play because they have one very important thing in common, they don't pay players, unlike all the paying comps who have pulled out because their players refuse to play for nothing. It has nothing to do with health reasons otherwise junior comps would not play as well.
LOL the VAFA don’t pay players yeah right but set them up in businesses and pay them ambassadors fees if it’s an old boys private school club.
I think you need to sit in a dark corner for the next few months as punishment for making stupid remarks.

Whilst he wants to blame people for visiting family, it appears the biggest contributor was their complete mismanagement of hotel quarantine. That’s how the virus escaped.

That and protestors ignoring the stay home for 14 day directive and going to work and spreading it there...Over 15 at last count from one protestor...

May not be his fault if security companies cut corners with proper training in usage of ppe, engagement with quarantinees and briefings - sadly we could not use the coppers which would have been better. Andrews has done a mighty job while flog O’Brien (Marcellin old boy and not well liked) tries and fails to score cheap points.

That right I know of 2 ex AFL players from a club that are playing Richmond atm that got very much looked after in the last few years by getting coin for a business set up and ambassadors role .
You can think about that when the dic/head fools that are doing the wrong thing by bringing on Corona cases which will end the VAFA season by Dan the Man and his Mates in the next week by putting more restrictions back on .
Take care champ and have a glass of red wine for me in see you and your VAFA mates in 2021.

are you saying no VAFA player receives any sort of reimbursement for playing?
The ones who have contacted a club in the N/W after the EDFL pulled the pin offering their services at a 'discounted' rate were laughed at. Make of that whatever you like.

At risk of upsetting people again with political discussions, there has always been the ADF who are doing the job in Sydney! Yet even this week when offered again he still refuses!

Btw why couldn’t they use the police? That’s their new plan, so why wasn’t it an option earlier?

I doubt anyone would seriously claim a lot of players especially on the premier grades don’t receive incentives to play through their club contacts and sponsors.

But that shouldn’t be affecting a clubs bottom line and shouldn’t affect a clubs ability to play in 2020 with limited crowds. Most Ammo games are played in front of less than 100 people anyway!!!

Yeah its looking bleak - hopefully we can just call 2020 a write off, sit back and return in October/November to begin the next season.

Couldnt imagine playing 9 games, teams having cases and having to shutdown, a season in disarray and then only one month before you have to gear up and do it all again. Its been a stressful 5 months for clubs as it is.

It’s 9 game season, how would they decide who gets 5 hone games and who doesn’t and going through all this protocols for 4 games at home isn’t worth it. It will be still around next years but they will have time to prepare with what to do
Home ground advantage is a very over-rated concept in my book, especially at the lower reaches of the VAFA. The best team invariably wins, regardless of the venue

Not if you know how to use it to your advantage

It’s an interesting conversation. What are the grounds in the VAFA that have a genuine HGA ?
Remember of course that you have to have the cattle to effectively use that advantage.

I'd say Ferndale Park has a genuine HGA being really narrow and short, and by that token Como Park would be the same given it's ginormous.

That cow paddock at Williamstown. For years they’d smash teams there but would fall over in finals on real grounds. Obviously they got better on other grounds in recent years.

I've played there four times and never lost. I agree that there might be quirks and nuances at different grounds, but ultimately if you don't have the players then a ground is just a ground. Highlighted by your point there that Willy have leveled out their performances because they've got a better list.

Speaking of those quirks, as a distraction from the "will we play-won't we play", what are the ones you can think of at the different grounds ? I remember when YV used to play at Park Orchards, the 50m line (where it met the boundary) on one side was about 35m out, but the other side was the true distance. Imagine my disappointment to learn that I'd dobbed a goal from the short side post high, only to find out i wasn't that big of a kick after all :D:D
