do you have his athletic testing results at all?
I’m waiting to see his results later this year, I refuse to believe the ones he got early in the year are true haha

Gee, wonder who that could be with your fanboi-ing this weekend.. ;)
If you look at the profile I did for him at the start of the year you can see why, maybe we could get whoever made up the highlights for Newchurch could do the same for this fella haha

Rolling mock draft will return tonight, one major bolter will come into the first round.
Could you possibly include pick 19 please.

And **** my fan boying of certain players. Pick who think our recruiters would go at those picks.

Then I can throw a tantrum after.

I loved poulters game on the weekend, but I still want to see more before I move him above someone like McInnes
That’s just where pies pick sits, this isn’t my rankings either which won’t be updated until late next month after I’ve seen some more games with WA starting up again and vic school footy resuming July 25th

Is O’Driscolls kicking a strength? Must say I’ve really liked what I’ve seen of him from various highlights packages, for mine he could be the best in the draft
I wouldn’t say a strength but he can kick long and is a better kick with time and space . His strength lies in his contested game balanced with his elite speed and athleticism. Will play senior football next year imo as he can play a range of roles early on.

Really torn on us this year. On paper, we don’t need more key defenders, but then, the ones we do have are always injured...

Can honestly make a case for us take KPD, KPF or mid with our first even though we should be stocked in the KPP department.

Does Chapman get through to the mid 20s? Is there any other key back we can draft that could be value as a 2nd round pick?

Chapman could make it, would hope the likes of Cox, McDonald or Reid could slide aswell.

Weight of numbers suggests one of them slides, even if McDonald is a KPF.

The more I think the more I think our dream draft is probably an elite mid with our first, KPD to develop with our 2nd and round it out with Walker and Western.

Wouldn’t be disappointed with DGB though, looks special

Still a bit to play out with local lads O’Driscoll and Trew, they could firmly enter top 5 calculations with a strong champs if we get one held late in the year

From your personal view, do you think it’s worth drafting a KPD with a top 5 pick?
If I was freo I’d look to split the pick with someone looking to move up (Unless it’s pick 1). Say Geelong instead of getting DGB you get Cox and Perkins/Henry etc. Then as a list build you’ve had 2 top 5 picks in ‘17, 3 top 10 picks in ‘19 and 2 first round picks in ‘20.

It depends on the rest of the pool and what’s on offer, do you ignore an elite local talent for a needs based pick?

it’s a tough one, for example Essendon are stacked for key defenders aswell and have nga prospect Brand to come in aswell so with a top 5 pick it would be a tough decision to pass on an elite talent despite not fitting the needs but there comes a time I guess where you have to bite the bullet and just go the needs based option early.

A lot of clubs will go with best available talent with those high end picks, you also don’t know for sure what the squad will look like in 3-5 years time, Essendon would have felt comfortable with a forward trio of Daniher/McKernan/Stringer but when the big piece is injured or wants to leave then your left with a big hole to fill.

Sadly, we cant get pick 1 because Carlton played silly buggers and we werent strong enough to bid on Green with any of our picks. So now we get a nice 260 odd point deficit to take into this year.

Personally think we are much better than 0-4 and we'll win a decent number of games at home and with our points deficit end up with a pick between 6 and 12
