Let’s assume Cunnington doesn’t play.

Let’s assume that Higgins won’t play. If his knee is sore now flying in a plane on Monday won’t help.

Let’s assume Ziebell doesn’t play.

Let’s assume Thomas will play.

From all reports Daw’s fitness isn’t anywhere near AFL ready, so let’s assume he won’t play.

So.

Wood could come in for Xerri. More mobile, different look to the forward line and may help straighten us up.

I don’t think we’ll change anything at the back. Holding up well man to man and nothing much else to be said.

I’d be astonished if Bonar doesn’t play and play as a mid.

Likewise it’s going to be Ahern before Scott as there’s no way Scott’s getting involved in a centre square rotation.

Hall strikes me as a tricky player to manage. Is desperately low on confidence and we’re almost a man down with him at the moment. At the end of the day you’ve got a second year player nailing set shots that Hall is shanking, and it’s killed our momentum in two matches now.

Summary:

Out: Cunnington, Higgins, Xerri
In: Bonar, Ahern, Wood

Amen.
Those last two ins just sum up where we are at

In: Daw/Larkey, Hosie, Walker, Bonar, EVW, Murphy
Pretty much what I was going to say. People wanting to bring in wood again after all the useless performances he has put in.
Doing the same things over and over and expecting different results is so NMFC and crazy

Out: Xerri (not ready), Thomas (concussion), Cunnington (inability to move), Hall (forever), Atley (forever), Macmillan (forever)

Now, this is the tough bit. I'm going off the AFL website injury list with 'TBC' meaning no and '1-2 weeks' meaning no. Just can't play injured players.

In: Scott, Bonar, W.Walker, Hosie, Murphy & Durdin?????

Not sure how people can say the defence is ok... yes Tarrant and walker good as usual and Hayden getting better each game with composure bursting through packs but then the remaining four being lmac jmac pittard Williams and atley are all same same... can only have two of these in the team max 3... need another point a difference back there

Daw needs to come in as the third tall defender who can swing forward at the expense of Macmillan

Because Defence starts up in the Forward and Midfield where its dysfunctional and non existent, and as a result the spotlight is in the Defence which is doing well because we see so much of their performance.

Couldn't agree more, bringing Wood back in is like bringing McMillan back in - absolutely gives zero. Including Atley been gifted games for years cos we don't have anyone else. Season is over play the kids have a clean out and start again

Agreed, our backline cops so much un warranted crap. They’ve done really well considering what our forwards and mids dish up.

IN: Scott, Bonar, Walker, McKay, Murphy
OUT: Higgins, Cunners, Hall, Xerri, Atley

McKay for the big X, he has had a taste of it, but let's have a look at Mckay, note that he is only 1 year older than X.
Murphy for Atley, needs a decent run at it, he has played 5 games and is 22. (Atley had played 86 games at the same age)
Walker for Hall, use him as a forward who can push up.
Bonar for Cunners and play him in the guts.
Scott for Higgo.

*Daw if he is ready can have J Mac's spot.

Ahern is see ball get ball. We've seen he can rack it up.
Brad went off him because he doesn't defend well, as Brad tended to do (evaluating players on weaknesses rather than strengths) .
If Higgins and Cunners are out, neither of whom defend much either, then surely we try Ahern in his natural role.

Also, has Durdin ever really played badly?
He gets the odd chance, generally goes okay, and gets banished.
Has played forward, back and ruck in that time.
Surely now is the time to give him a run. Preferably as a mobile hit up CHF.
And we need to see if McKay can play. Brad wrote him off, but he also wrote off Larkey and preferred Campbell as a key forward option.
Our list management has been atrocious, now is the time to fix that.

One thing he can do, is mark the footy in a contested situation.

Xerri is not ready. Hooker is fully cooked but look decent when playing against Cox - Xerri is Cox.

Interesting to see if Hurly plays - after getting zurhaared last year not sure he would be keen for his career to end next week.

If we bash their powder puff midfield we will be a big chance to win. I just hope someone waves to Stringer while he hides in the stands.

We need to get a look at a lot of them.
