GHS to step into some coaching role.
Was down on the bench with headphones on last weekend again.

Rory Thompson, however, has suffered a small setback in his efforts to return to the field, with the key defender expected to miss up to six weeks.

Speaking on the Qscan Injury Update, Head Physiotherapist Lindsay Bull said that although it was a minor knee operation it would take up to a month to recover.

Anthony Miles will however re-join the main group this week after missing the last three weeks with a hamstring strain.

“Anthony has done really well off the back of his small hamstring strain a few weeks ago.”

“He’ll re-join the group this week which is really pleasing for Anthony after a few setbacks this pre-season.”

Sometime is better to have less expectations in your best 22.

Got GHS paws all over it

See - If this was the injury luck of 2014/15/16/17 we would have 3 players out with papercuts, 2 with sticky tape burn and Mitch would have done his opposite ACL running through the banner

Please please please Matt Rowell doesn't need a shoulder reco.
I'm not an expert on these things, but does a dislocation mean reoccurrence is going to be more likely until he finally gets a reco? Can just hopefully delay it until end of season.

Depends on the damage done i believe, if they have been able to get it back in easily and not damaged it there is a good chance we won't need a reco

Rowell will have to see an orthopod in Sydney. I'm sure they will be able to get recommendation from their usual surgeon but just a little thing that will be different to usual.

Does anyone know if there are radiology clinics open in Wollongong on a Sunday? If not, we'll have to wait until tomorrow to find out.

The scan gives information on the joint structure / any associated fracture or soft tissue injury but it won't determine whether he needs an operation now or later. He will need to go to Sydney to see an orthopaedic shoulder specialist for discussion about pros and cons and review of the imaging.
Our club doctors can't make that decision.

We won't know until early in the week I'd suggest.

Anyone really knowledgeable on shoulder injuries and can outlay a few of the most likely scenarios/prognosis and time out?

James Brayshaw IQ = 4

I’m not knowledgeable at all as I never did a shoulder personally or have serious Human Movement/PE/Medical training but I’ve been around AFL/NRL teams all my life as a player or coach so I think it could be an Ablett disaster requiring a reconstruction which is my initial fear and I still lean that way because of the lump and the way he hit the ground BUT given it went straight back in and he felt pretty good and he’s only 19 you could argue it just needs strapping up every week for the rest of the season and just fix it post season with a minor clean and he plays next week.

Jeez that would be nice. Love your optimism but I doubt it :(
