Like, even ignoring the attempt to kick it out of the air thing, I want to talk about Adelaide's first goal (Stengle). He was ahead of Stengle, jogging to the front and square, Stengle attacked it and he didn't even realize it. Seriously, both of the goals in the first were because of braindead decisions that a 76 game player should not be making.

For me he was close to worst on for us. One good act that got us a goal and a minimum of three horrible decisions that cost us goals.

Fairly harsh take on how the first goal played out imo. There’s a lot of moving parts on a football field and to get caught out by such a pure crumb can happen to anyone.

That being said he also left his man for no reason when Gleeson spilled the mark and cost us a goal.

When the ball isn't marked that close to the boundary there is absolutely no reason Adelaide should get a goal from it. Either it crosses the line or we get a ball up.

Cmon Stengle curled round the pack beautifully and used it as a block on McKenna. What was he supposed to do?
Not taking away from what Stengle did but McKenna was lazy there, could have blocked his run, could have taken the ball, could have stayed on him and forced him over the boundary line, could have tackled him when he got the ball. There was plenty that McKenna could have done defensively there that he didn't.

On top of all his mistakes which have been highlighted he also is not tackling because of his hand which as a backman should be a non negotiable.
He also chose to bump instead of tackling which may lead to a report ?, I think that if he's so uncomfortable with his hand he should NOT be playing.

McKenna's issue is with his mental application - He can play at AFL level, and in fact can play at a very good level - Its just a matter of him being fully focused on his game.

That soccer he went for in the last quarter which costed us a goal is a prime example.

Conor has made it fairly clear this is his last season in the AFL.
Conor didn’t complete preseason because he felt the need to rush back home to family in Ireland.
Conor came back to Australia underdone and then proceeded to breach league COVID regulations resulting in him and another player being suspended.
Conor is playing consistently disinterested, half hearted football with sprinklings of the most mind blowing mistakes ever seen on a football field.
Only at Essendon would this guy be a walk up start every single week seemingly without the requirement to adhere to any baseline level of performance or standards on or off the field.
Given his output, what we know of the situation and from a club perspective it is only logical to send the guy home and play anyone else in his place in the interest of team cohesion, development and ongoing improvement.

Aren’t players not meant to be in each other’s rooms 👀. Hopefully they don’t have the same downfall as Brooke Cotchin.

Na they are allowed in each other’s rooms for no more than 2 hours at a time and no more than 3 in the room and need to be 1.5m apart.

He did mention he wanted to play forward. This will be his best opportunity to see what he can do if he gets a game there
