It’s hard to say at this stage without getting to see him have a block of games as a midfielder this year. Like many Sandringham youngsters in their bottom age year he didn’t get a lot of midfield time last year and the way the season is panning out for metro teams I don’t think we will be able to see much of him in that role to get a proper gauge.Do you see Perkins becoming a half forward that pinch hits through the midfield at afl level. Or is he one that would develop primarily as a midfielder,?
I’d be surprised if any of them, except for possibly Ford, last to Brisbane’s two first round picks, and I’ll be upset if we pass on them.He sounds perfect IMO, though the knee injury is a concern.
By the sounds of it the following players will be gone before our pick - JUH, Tillthorpe and Phillips.
The players that I'm interested in for our first pick:
- Elijah Hollands
- Will Phillips
- Reef McInness (though Collingwood would match)
- Logan McDonald
And for North's 2nd rounder (which would likely get pushed back 4/5 spots) are:
- Archie Perkins
- Tanner Bruhn
- Braeden Campbell (Sydney will match)
- Eddie Ford
What are the chances we are able to secure one from each group? Would any from the latter group be available around that early to mid 20's pick?
Plenty of good key forwards early on and he absolutely challenging Thilthorpe as the best one in the open draft. He looks like the best KPF in this draft. After watching this I’m struggling to see how he isn’t the best KPF in the draft? Good on him. Doing it against men as well.

Not sure about that pick 1 and 2 Adelaide tilthorpe and McDonaldWith Fremantles ridiculous injury list, we could well finish 17th and end up with pick 3 after the Liam Henry points deficit is applied.
Surely we won’t pass on McDonald with that pick in that case.
You only have one pick? Are you expecting a priority pick? Not sure about that pick 1 and 2 Adelaide tilthorpe and McDonald
All it takes is one club to show major interest in him despite the injury so hopefully pies can get one in before the bid, they would be confident it comes after I reckonHow I would love him at the pies. But clearly he will be too high for that. Hoping we can get someone, before we have to match a bid for Reef; who could fall into the 20's because of his injury?
Yeah, especially if pies fall off a cliff this year lol Even pick 18 would come before a bid for reef, especially with all the NGA/FS that could come beforehand, he could be bumped down. All it takes is one club to show major interest in him despite the injury so hopefully pies can get one in before the bid, they would be confident it comes after I reckon
The disrespect to Issac QuaynorYeah, especially if pies fall off a cliff this year lol Even pick 18 would come before a bid for reef, especially with all the NGA/FS that could come beforehand, he could be bumped down.
Been a couple years since we even had a first round pick. Not since Jaidyn.
Wasn't that just matched with points? I didn't think pies had a pick though. Sorry, that's what I was referring to. lol I know we matched a bid from you guys for him at pick 13. So in that aspect, yes we did get a first round draftee. The disrespect to Issac Quaynor![]()
Was tongue in cheek, want to see you guys get a key forward this year so hope you get an open pickWasn't that just matched with points? I didn't think pies had a pick though. Do you want to tell them or should I?Adelaide fans are convinced that Brad Crouch will be netting them a Band 1 compo pick
Yeah thanks, we need one. Sure, we have Kelly coming through, but with Reid on his last legs (some might say his last legs was about 5 years ago) and Cox, well.. I don't see him lasting much longer. Mihochek is 28 next year. Sure, we have Anton Tohil, but I don't think he'll make it and he is more of a ruck forward rather than a key forward. I'd like to have another developing KPF that can grow with Kelly. Was tongue in cheek, want to see you guys get a key forward this year so hope you get an open pick

But who knows with the pies recruiting department. Probably haven't drafted one since Cloke haha.
A few potential options late in the draft from the metro clubs. Players like Liam McMahon and Ollie Lord could be nice options so perhaps going a key forward isn’t exactly a necessity at that first pick, plenty of good young key defenders to look at which pies also need more of.Callow or Baldwin? Unless you super tank Thilthorpe and McDonald will be gone.
They should be optimistic that the league doesn't seem to be calling them about tanking but that's another discussionEh, they need something to be optimistic about this year
