Hmm I reckon he’ll still go for this, it’s a softie but when has that mattered?

Hawkins shouldn’t go for his one, it was nothing and Luke Ryan’s milking wasn’t even close to being in sync.

Try to control your melts if this doesn’t go our way boys...

After reading the thread on the Rules/MRP board and getting a general consensus that other teams supporters are as shocked as us about this suspension, I can't help but think the Pies have raised a complaint about this incident.

It's too vague and soft to be picked out of a game review and taken seriously by the public. They would have skimmed straight over it, surely! For Michael Christian to offer a week here it had to have been brought to his attention to begin with.

I'm expecting some evidence to be submitted by the Pies, an injury or something.. Cannot get my head around it otherwise.

I don't buy that at all.

what could collingwood possibly have to gain from giving Geelong an extra advantage this weekend though? I'm putting this in the Michael Christian is a complete fcuking arsewipe column

I'm searching for some common sense and reason within the match review process. Maybe that's my problem?

I agree the Pies gain little from this unless it's driven by spite, but it's hard to believe the alternative is justifiable either. The bloke who runs the match review cannot be that petty or incompetent.

There's no conspiracy and Collingwood have more to worry about than dobbing us in.

MC is incompetent.

I guess if Yeo doesn't get the verdict overturned, he's proven to be right on this occassion.

I've settled with personal grudge. But yes perhaps trying to make sense of it is our issue here.

I think that too. But usually incompetence wouldn't scour through hours of footage of non-dominant cameras to see the shooter on the grassy knoll.

Yeah especially if you listen to Buckley after the match. Had zero ill-will towards us and was having a go at his own players.

Still waiting on old mate Hawkins getting off for the elbow to the neck cause the neck is the body or some other bullshit. I reckon they will say that Yeo's palm to the chest that slid up is high contact and Hawkin's elbow to the neck is body contact. What's the chances that a elbow is careless and the palm is the intentional one?

Oh no, I found a draft of QC Grace's defence. He's getting worse, mixing in the wrong facebook groups. Safe to say he's not well.

Here it is:

The living man elliott, of the family ‘Yeo’, is not guilty of the crimes accused by the AFL corporation’s “MATCH REVIEW PANEL”.

Has elliot disturbed the peace? Has he committed a crime? What crime has he been charged with? He does not consent to the laws of the illegitimate match review constitution. He does not consent to be here. We do not understand the charge of “STRIKING” you lay upon him, although we comprehend it.

Did the match review officer take an oath to uphold the law and protect us? Please identify yourself by giving to me, in writing, your name, rank and place of Duty. Are you refusing to comply with my request?

It is in breach of the 1948 Charter of Human Rights. If you charge him, that's discrimination and I can have you personally sued for $60,000 for discriminating against me as an Eagles supporter.

If you continue the unlawful detention of this player, this will be taken as your consent and agreement to this schedule of fees and terms of payment.

Michael Christian, if you are truly committed to upholding the peace, you can choose to let our player go free. Stand with us against the Freemason VICbiased leaders of corporate AFL instead. The AFL is a hoax and scam. Instead, MRO I instruct you to arrest Steve Hocking under Section 456 AA subsections (4) and (5) of the Crimes Act 1958 as he/she refused to comply with my request to give me his/her name, rank and place of duty in writing.

Surely this has to be up there with one of the greatest weekends in football. Smack Collingwood by 11 goals, Freo only scoring 2 total for a match (plus being 1 minute away from the lowest score in the last 60 years) and now a tribunal thread. If there’s an improvement on that I’d like to see it.
NOT having a tribunal thread?

This post makes zero sense.

What does not hitting someone high have to do with winning a clearance?

Part of the craft needs to be not being cited by the MRO and getting suspended for it.

What Yeo did (the shove) happens 70/80 or more times per game. The difference being his is claimed to have slipped high (to be tested tonight I think).

Guys grapple and push around contests all the time - it allows them space to win clearances. sometimes free kicks go against you (see Sheed on the weekend), other times an obscure 'strike' gets plucked out. But both of those charges (Yeo & Sheed) are in preference to our team not fighting for every inch of space.

What Gaff did (and Gov earlier this year, although it wasn't related to trying to get separation) are obviously in a different category, but a few fines here and there for playing hard (not throwing punches, but things line NN's suspension a couple of years back for a tackle, Sheed's fine etc which are essentially acts in going after the ball or player with it - that have slightly crossed the line) are the price we need to pay.

As long as players know that punches, headbutting etc are crossing the line (I think Simpson has made that pretty clear) then I don't think he'll be fussed about a few fines and the odd suspension here and there (even if it is frustrating) - provided they are directly related to winning the ball. Telling our players to be more gentle with our opponents would be the wrong approach IMO.

Cant help but feel this guy has it in for us ever since he was forced to go coast to coast defending his Nic Nat suspension.
Easiest decision he's ever had to make.

That Ablett against North from last year was deemed to be insufficient force to warrant a suspension.

"AFL match review officer Michael Christian said there was "insufficient force" to classify Ablett's hit on Sam Wright as a reportable offence."
He got off the Shiel one as well right? Both incidents fell the player he hit.
Yeoy might be gone though. Since Gaff it's any intentional contact to the head. Hopefully will argue most of the force hit his chest and slid up
