No secret we badly need classy and dynamic midfielders.

There's no guarantee we'll finish below the likes of Sydney and Fremantle. I also sense Hawthorn could be in the mix also.

If both Phillips and Hollands go before our first pick, who is the next best midfielder in that mould?

Would he be worthy of our likely top end first pick?

If no, I assume we'd have to give serious consideration to parlaying it.
Zane Trew or tanner Bruhn

I can’t split them

I'm intrigued why we never gave him a fulltime gig. The bloke makes deals.

He comes to club in 2018 and we finally prize someone decent out their club in Polec. ie - not a lucky swing at an undervalued player like Waite or Higgins.

He goes to saints and lands pretty much every target pursued including beating us for Howard. Clearly knows what he's doing.

Not sure why we didn't want to hold on to those kind of smarts.

They only beat us to Howard cause of the stupid money offered what 650k... I think we did alright with walker at a much lower cost and also sts gave up a low 1st rder too?

Do you actually know this as fact?

Not judging our respective trades. It's a commentary on them setting out with an ambitious list getting deals done with Gubby around.

Potentially he made a few of the incumbents at the time a little uncomfortable. After God knows how many swings and misses, Allen comes in and lands his target. It doesn't look particularly good for some people in seniors positions.

I'm still reeling over us showing Neville Stibbard the door..

Yes. You said Howard chose St Kilda because they offered him $650k and assumedly we offered less. Was curious as to your source?

If herald sun is to be believed.... he was listed on page 10 over the weekend in the adl listings as the 93rd top paid player at 600-650k. That would have made him our 4th highest paid player for someone who was playing sanfl last year

Ok so you have no personal insight into our offer, the saints offer or his decision making process?

Here's a clip of Will Phillips from the 2019 NAB League grand final

Having clearly watched most of the videos GR do YOU think he should be our first pick?
I'll preface this with saying I know nothing, but he's just all a bit "clunky" for me. The running style, doesn't look quick or smooth, the kicking action....I just dunno. He's also only 179cm isn't he?

I think they've stretched him out to 182cm.

GR could write a dosier on his top 10 I reckon. He must have done nothing for the passed fortnight apart from watching U18's footy..:D

His kicking technique is not text book, but it is well compensated by that low ball drop.

The Krakeour brothers were similar. Akward looking, but highly effective.

Analyse GR's clip again, and note that there was bugger all follow through on that kick, but it went close to 55 metres and dead straight.

What a great late pick specialist he was.

Admittedly I'm triggered because I rated him but he was decent with any pick bar a couple of drafts. Was usually coming from far back too.

A first round strikerate of Simpson, Welsh, Capuano, Harris, D.Motlop, Hale, Rawlings, Wells, McIntosh, Hansen and Tarrant is hardly a failure with top 20 selections.

Yes, without a doubt. He is the up there with Campbell as the best mids this year.

Rowell (178), Neale (177) are both under 180. He is a footballer.
