Completely agree he needs to Be more, not less, selfish. Gary Lyon sprayed him for not passing the ball to Scully at one point. Best case scenario in doing so would be Scully to take the mark (unlikely) and kick the goal from 45 metres out (no chance). Much prefer Wingard having a shot. Same goes for Breust and Gunston. We can barely score. If one of our guys who know how to get within range, they need to be given the licence and confidence to have a shot unless there is a very obvious better option (not something speculative like kicking to Lewis to not compete in the air)

He and Sicily are the only two guys we have who can ignite us with something special. He needs to be able to do it
Unbelievable by G Lyon - wish commentators got called out for just dumb stuff.

The pass to Scully was not 100% and if it had stuffed up we were really opened up for them to take it straight down the other end

And Scully was too far out and isn't a great set shot

Frawley is going okay, Mitchell is going okay, Frost is going great, the forwards have all been letdowns.

Frawley is 32 in September. Frost, been a good pickup, isn't the answer at CHB long term. Mitchell is a long way from elite, but he will get back there. And... then we have forwards...

That's our list. A 32 year old, bloke that wasn't deemed in Melbourne's best 22 who is best in the Stratton role, * knows up forward and Mitchell who I hope will get back to his elite best next year....

Yep, kicking a goal is a lot easier than kicking to a contest, that player winning the contest and then kicking a goal. Gunston last week had it 55 out on an slight angle, a stretch for him but he can do it. or at least put it in a dangerous possition top of goal square.

Tries to kick it to Burgoyne who is between 2 players 45 meters out (so will kick from 50) on a tighter angle. So instead of Gunston executing 1 skill that he is proven to be capable of. We have 3 skills (gunston kick, burgoyne mark, Burgoyne goal) to execute that are all harder than the 1 kick.

Very disappointing last four weeks from Chad - yet to play well in a loss this year. His skills/confidence were off again last week and cant do much for the team confidence when chad is butchering it. Not sure what’s up with him as a player as talented as him shouldn’t be disposing of ball at 57% DE.

The great players front up every week and play consistently to a high standard each week. Chad so far is more a front runner - we need more from him when team isn’t playing well. Interested to see how he performs for rest of year especially if season is over with another loss or two.

Even with breust out not sure why he’s playing forward. He was traded in to be a mid and from what he’s shown is far more effective at this stage of this career in midfield then up forward.

Not sure we have been watching the same games. As a forward this year he's had 3 bags of 3.

I also think his team play has gone to another level he never showed at Port.

With Bruest having missed games, Poppy cooked, question marks over Minchington and Hanrahan and Josh Morris not ready, Wings' has been forced to play forward.

This trade can be confirmed as a bust now. Burton might be injured a bit, but the fact we could've had a Rozee type. Has offered very little since we got him
Duursma, we were never a chance to get Rozee.

Apologies, still would've been handy. Not to mention Burton was pretty handy himself.
I mean if we still have Burton we probably don't have Scrimshaw or Day. Can't have them all in the same team. I like Duursma as a player but he would not be having a huge impact in this team. He is a player who will always look better with a good team just like Wingard.

I don't think you can identify this trade in isolation as a bust, true we probably gave up too much. But overall the plan to give up a truckload of picks for established players as a quick rebuild is looking like it will set us back a few years.

Continuing to play him as a pure forward is basically tanking at this point. Two and a half years worth of clear evidence that it doesn't work. Don't know what Clarkson is thinking.

We are tanking, did you watch tonight? I don’t think it’s possible to try and still get out possessed by 100 touches by a bottom 4 team. Nothing else explains it

He wants to play O’Meara, Mitchell and Worpel in the same side but none of them are any good outside of the midfield. Unfortunately they’re all too similar and don’t gel as a trio. Take any one of them out and replace with Wingard and you’ve got a wildly better dynamic.

Wingard looks disinterested and his body language is a worry.

When people move jobs because of a falling out, they get an instant spark or a new found passion, but when things start to go against them, soon their attitudes and character start to revert to what frustrated their old employer.

Unfortunately Chad is cream, goes well when his side is winning, but doesn't suit a rebuilding team that we have to become. We need our highest paid players to have a much bigger influence on games and the group week to week. Not just when things are rolling and easier.

I feel for Sicily and Gunston, they can't do anymore. We'd be Adelaide without these two.

This bloke has packed up. Body language is clear on that.

This guy will be a disaster in a rebuilding team.
What body language?

He laid 6 tackles tonight and never stopped trying, he looks frustrated and down on confidence but has never given up on us.

I just don't see him getting around the forwards after a goal, at half time he sat looking like he was sulking. At 3Qt he was right next to Gunston on the siren, and they looked, he turned and walked the other way. Small things, but just not what we saw from our past champions.

I think he is being judged on past reputations, if he was happy and up and about during that game people would kick him for not caring still.
