Nothing on that page contradicts what I said, or supports your view. It is clearly not a "fitness" system.

Exactly, I doubt the crows even have one of these units at the facility, would likely only be used when needed out of Saunders practice.

They do, they're sensors attached to players bodies that record data. Our issue with the system previously was not the collection of data, but the interpretation of it.

Interesting to know, I've only seen the isometric type muscle testing machines. How do the sensors work and what are they measuring?

I'm going to guess that we couldn't afford to pay out Haas contract and wasn't a priority at the time. Given the s**t show that was Burton/Campe/Pyke, they were the most urgent/critical people that needed to be shown the door.

Now that the above has occurred, the next tier of positions looking down the barrel of the gun would be the line coaches (GTFO Hart/Godden) and likely Haas.

Given the whole 'Covid-19 / reduction in the soft cap' thing, I think it's going to be tough finding quality replacements.

1)I'm a data analyst, I analyze data. So none of youre questions are really relevant, I'm not a decision maker. I provide information.
2)I also don't work with the financial side of things, though I will say the NWAU is only half the picture, I assume you've got a state based funding model in addition to the federal one. At the end of the day LOS is a clinical decision so all you an really do is make sure you're coding to recover as much funding as possible as well as capturing opportunties for OSR wherever possible (pretty much any other funding source will pay more than the government does).
3)I'm doing a bit of NEAT related work, specifically around imlementing a model to predict ED attendance in a more sophisticated way than has been productionized previously (lots of papers written showing better systems can work in theory, but all just looking at historical data so we're in the process seeing how they work in the real world). However ED is actually only a part of the NEAT picture, best practice currently across most of the nation is to adopt a 2-1-1 split of the 4 hour window so already you have 50% of the target outside the hands of the ED (1hr is for a specialist consultant to attend and make the decision to admit and the other 1 hr is for bed managers to find a bed and actually admit them). But even within the 50% that falls under the banner of the ED you have issues with testing and imaging often causing delays.

But you weren't really looking for a genuine answer were you?
Actually, it's a bit of both. I'm genuinely interested to hear what others in the health system think. :)

Hopefully your ED model assists. There have been plenty of extra clinical staff pumped into ED over the past few year by most LHN's, yet performance of treating within 4 hours has declined in most hospitals. Bed block is not the key issue as most of these patients are not admitted. FMC easily the best performed (was around NEP prior to COVID), but NALHN & CALHN ED's miles over NEP. Much of this is a culture not staffing issue. Main bed block issue across the system is access to mental health beds as not enough in the system (inappropriate MH patients are stuck in ED for days).

BTW, SA funding model now very similar to IHPA national model. There are only minor differences now (eg. not funding Do Not Waits).

Scorpus, I've often wondered how Hass survived --- dun dun DUUUUUN --- "the review". I've not seen a single poster in any thread comment on what a good job he's done. My take on it was this [edited today], posted in another thread on Saturday, but more relevant here:
"Our fitness looked well below AFL levels today. Hass is responsible.
I betcha he has worked it out. He'll be:
--- great at Networking, getting people onside, keeping them in the loop etc
--- the one who submits many brilliant written reports (ALL that work!! the man's a machine!) which detail how any failures relating to his role have nothing to do with him
--- while explaining that any successes are a direct result of his tireless efforts.
Betcha.
It's how all selfish, Empire-building incompetents pull the wool over their gullible [employers' eyes]."

I suspect he survived due to us cutting our GM, coach and senior assistant, and that we decided having someone in that role is ever so slightly better than no one. Especially due to how late the hires of GM, and coach was.

I would be very surprised if Hass was at Adelaide come 2021.

Internally we break down NEAT to admit/discharge/short stay when we analyze it. I obviously can't go into too much detail but our discharge neat is pretty decent, short stay is okish while the admit NEAT is our real focus for improvement.

Anyway this is very off topic, feel free to PM me if you wish to discuss.

1) Yeah, could be. The Devil you know, eh? The only reasons they'd keep on someone who is so obviously incompetent (to us) is that they can't see it, or worse, think he's doing an ok job.
2) I'm so deflated by the state of the Club that I wouldn't be surprised at all if he was retained. After all, the more people they sack from the recent miserable era, the closer it brings the axe to them (Roo and Chapman).

It's probably just a case of we were locked into keeping him. After all, Nick's only came in near the start of preseason. Missed windows and all that jazz.

Hass position is untenable now. Every loss makes it more so. Chap/Roo etc will happily throw anyone under the bus to save themselves.

I recall when Walsh came in and reviewed the fitness plan(Poulos) and based on his own qualifications as a trainer and rated it very good. So how/why did we replace Poulos with this guy. Checks and balances.

Goes back to what most people have been saying. We finalised our head coach / head of football extremely late into the year. I feel almost certain that there were no quality candidates left by then (line coaches included). Be very surprised if they haven't been scouting people for these positisions in the last 6 months.

Also.. Haas came with the Burton package....

Melbourne snagged Burgess. Probably $ became issue at the time.

I'm hoping that we can make some significant staffing changes at the end of this year but with Chapman and Roo in charge it doesn't fill me with much confidence

I was told on the fitness side of things he was popular with the players and wasn't lumped in with Burton who most everyone had an issue with.

And to survive the review it seemed like the minimum pass mark was you weren't a complete prick who everyone hated. Being competent as well was just an added bonus if you were.

.... which is why Roo wanted Nicks.

Working with mates (especially ex-teammates); doesn't get any better, especially when you can get such a nice Coach whom everybody likes. :grimacing:

The players aren't in AFL shape. It's clear after 10 games. They aren't strong enough, nor fit enough to deliver consistent efforts. It's easy to blame the players but what hope do they have when they aren't given the tools to do the job?
They're like chain smokers after a week in Prague on the coke and hookers
