What's the verdict on Whiteside?
Not a prolific scorer but 15 points and 14 rebounds a game is pretty useful. 31 this year and finishing a $27m contract. Would be a good player to sign for a bit less than that if possible.
Been pleasantly surprised with Carmelo. You'd take 16 points a game from anyone on $2m a year and he hasn't disrupted anything.

Dame is putting up Harden numbers efficiently. Has hit 40 3s in 5 games, but has only attempted 71. That's insane. If you hit 8/14 that's a good night out, let alone doing it for a 5 game stretch. Even more ridiculous when you consider the contested 3s and loooong range 3s he has been hitting.
Probably could have had 5 triple doubles in a row, but he doesn't seem to care. He's a 6'3 guard and doesn't chase rebounds for the sake of it. If he's on 45 points having hit 7/10 from 3 he'll still look to drive and/or pass if that's the better play.

40/71 becomes 49/86. Up to 192/484 for the season.
He's only 16 3 pointers behind Harden with 32 games to go. Will definitely give the 3 point leader a shake and if matches Harden he'll likely do it with 50-100 fewer attempts. Nuts.

Pretty tough schedule for us in the restart, will be interesting to see how it goes with Nurk and Zach back and the whole league on a 4.5 month break.
Front court has gone from non existent/awful to stacked.
Collins also very good. Meanwhile despite scoring 33 we were down 11 while McCollum was on the court. Would so love to trade him.

Quality win against the rockets. Shame we didn’t get close to a full season with Nurk and Collins. Nurk come back better than we could have hoped
Seeing what Nurk does for us shows you how rubbish Whiteside is. He’s such an empty stats guy, just makes bonehead decisions, never rotates on D, prefers to drop back to go for boards instead of close out on his man when on the perimeter. Nurks passing has completely changed the flow of our offense and it’s evident in the number of assists the team is racking up because the ball is moving.
GTJ been unbelievable also. He’s not going to keep hitting 3s at 60% but if he keeps knocking down his fair share of wide open shots and locking up on D it gives us so many options when thinking about a trade for a legit SF. He could be part of a package or he potentially makes CJ movable.
Pity Ariza isn’t in Orlando. An 8 man rotation of Dame - CJ - Melo - Zach - Nurk - GTJ - Whiteside - Ariza would be a darn good side.

Such a poor loss to the Clippers, Kawhi resting, George sat the 4th, no Harrel, Beverley and Lou on a minutes restriction. Dame missed back to back Free throws late also.

Got Mavs in the middle of those two, if we lose one we also need both Spurs and Suns to lose one on the run in.

Yeah it's concerning, If we miss playoffs I won't be that shattered as I don't think we really deserve to make it.
