Our key forwards are our big strength. Ideally we want McKay, Curnow and McGovern in there with Levi the floating tall covering 2nd ruck, or any key post forward or back as required.

Of those 3 tall forwards, this is who we have had available:

Round 1 - McGovern
Round 2 - McGovern, McKay
Round 3 - McGovern, McKay
Round 4 - McGovern
Round 5 - McGovern, McKay
Round 6 - McGovern, McKay
Round 7 - McGovern, McKay
Round 8 - McGovern
Round 9 - McKay
Round 11 - NIL

That's 14 out of a possible 30 games so far from our preferred 3 tall forwards. The best we can do from here is 28 out of a possible 51 games if Gov and H come back next week and stay fit.
And zero from Charlie Curnow, so 14 out of 40 so far and 28 from 68 is best case scenario.

It was the 2 umpire goals in a row to take them from 13 points down to 1 point down which made a massive difference

and the next 3 goals? They were all over us for that 10 minute period and we couldnt get our hands on the ball...they would have got those goals, with or without the 3 decisions...it was a 10 minute complete brain fade from an on ball division that by and large matched it with the best for most of the game

Doesn’t hurt as much as last week but still hurts.

Can’t blame umps for brain fades and letting back in the game.

Changing the ruck structure when the momentum was on our side was a bad move and saw a 3 goal swing.

The ins were the highlight of the game. Really positives!
We got up with Pitt on bench. TDK did very well.

Momentum is a powerful force, especially when you can do no wrong and mistakes are not penalised.

It might have been pretty bloody different if we had our free kick at CHB with a 13 point lead, rather then the ball back in the centre with only a 7 point lead, soon decreased to a 1 point lead.

With a tiny bit of luck between now and the end of 2021, I think we‘re going to kick arse.

And if Cripps had kicked that goal, or taken the mark 20 m out...or we hadn’t left 3 WCE players completely free outside the contest (for the 2 sheed goals)...again our mistakes have more effect on the game than the umpires mistakes...just blaming umpires makes us all feel a little bit better and pretend we got robbed through no fault of our own...

You just said they didn't change the momentum, which is not true.
Cripps dropped the mark, then Nic Nat got caught dead, but the umps let him get away with it.

West Coast are one of the best sides in it. We were playing without 4 of our fist picked taller forwards, and Martin off early. But the umps cost us a legitimate go at winning.

If it helps you sleep tonight thinking that, fair enough...I strongly believe momentum swung for the main reason that our midfielders couldn’t get near it with a 10 ft pole for the back half of the third...then they were just clinical and professional in the last...They have done the same thing to teams week in week out after the first month of this season...the umpiring didn’t change that...

anyway, unfortunately neither of us have access to the Parallel universe where our points could be proven one way or the other, so let’s leave it here...

Wouldn’t you keep fish a forward goal sneak pressure player.?

It's a very tough role to play. He's shown he's capable on the wing, still an unknown quantity up forward. If he goes on with it, great.

My preference is to get Walsh into the midfield. We'd need somebody who can play his wing role and Fisher's probably our best option at present. SPS is another.

You got torn a new one in the first half and not much better in the third.
As for the last quarter, the umpires had done their job.

We had some fairly decent players out injured today; and for most of the season. God damn, I think we may be on the verge of kicking some serious arse.
Yeah agreed.
People can say what they will about umps and whipping boys but we always overlook a simple fact - we are getting the ball into forward 50 A LOT of times but not capitalizing.
1 great 2 way mid traded in and one of Dow/Philp/Honey/Stocker/Polson to step up with a dynamic running game and we are top 4 during regular season.
Getting closer every game.
Sure the other stuff will help but get this bit right and there'll be few teams that could stop us.
Right now I think we are beating ourselves more than anything with our "bomb it to 20 out" game.

I can see him going to centre half back. Weiters to fullback and jones retiring. Some bad signs with Jones. He is a barometer of our performance. Jones falls apart, Carlton falls apart
The People’s Fist was good today, mostly. Tried to mark a few, got close.

Reckon Teague has to take quite a bit of the blame. When TDK was in the ruck, WCE lost their advantage in there. When Pittonet was back on, we got demolished, particularly due to Nic Nat. Why didn’t Teague persist with TDK?

Few weeks ago Weitering clearly should have played on Dixon. SPS is not a backman, he’s a midfielder and looks a bit lost at times. Gibbons, Cunningham (when fit), Fisher and SPS should be rotating through guts. Newnes lacks composure and misses targets which puts us to the sword every week. Murphy doesn’t tackle enough and lacks intensity at the contest. Would love to see honey in...time for Newnes in the 2s. Why is Plowman the whipping boy of so many supporters? I reckon he’s playing well.
