Still think we could reliably go 10-7 which puts us in the frame for finals.

If it’s true that Jason Taylor was a big Zak Butters fan it’s a shame we didn’t trade back into the draft to pick him up after we traded pick 6 for May. Kid is a straight up star. I guess we’ll do what we did with Lever and pick him up next year and watch him do an ACL.

that was the same pipsqueak that ran 15-20m and bumped May, 2-3 seconds after he was tackled over the line. Rather embarrassing stuff.

Also can someone point out why when Gawn was finally given a free the kick was taken at the point of infringement that was 20m behind where the ball up was to be taken

I didn't have an issue with Port in Rd 1 last year as it was largely at the coal face - in the immediate vicinity of the footy as it's about to be balled up etc. But these ones 50-100m off the ball need to be pulled up. Also, I'm going full TK here but our players need to do something about this. Even be prepared to give away a free in retaliation early in the game. Not a good look by us to let it happen

Given how easily Harmes gave away a free for 'prohibited conduct' in the first minute last night it's amazing they didn't call any of these a free. The issue with giving a free up in retaliation is it could lead them to keep doing it. If the action itself isn't pulled up by the umps, but responding is, little smart arses will keep pulling this shit out.
Just pay the bleeding obvious free and it'll stop pretty quick. A lot to ask these days, I know.

Mays year has been honestly really strong defensively, offensively his kicking has been up and down but his contest work in the air has been superb. Lever has been bog average until last night but I think he is a guy who needs a consistent run of games to find form.

Who would have thought, playing together consistently could help their synergy. Hibberd has been very good since being dropped too.

May has been good but my concern is when the pressure is on he seems to panic and make mistakes

Lever has had his moments this year but unless he has been playing as the third tall he gets found out way too much

Couldn't agree more, May is an elite long kick when he's in form, just needs to start making some better decisions from kick outs to help boost his confidence and if his confidence is up, levers will be up too.
