4 games in 2 weeks? That's going to be a challenge. Just hope the breaks are similar for our opponents.

Rnd 18 (Venues & times TBC)
Brisbane v Carlton

Have added a few pertinent notes:

Rnd 14
Sunday, August 30
Carlton v Collingwood, The Gabba, 3.35pm AEST
(Collingwood last play on Aug 24, Carlton on Aug 21 - much shorter break for Collingwood)

Rnd 15
Thursday, September 3
Greater Western Sydney v Carlton,Metricon Stadium, 7.10pm AEST
(GWS last play on Aug 29 in Perth - GWS get extra day break but have to travel from WA)

Rnd 16
Tuesday, September 8
Carlton v Sydney, Metricon Stadium, 8.10pm AEST
(Sydney last play on Sep 3 - same break, same state)

Rnd 17
Sunday, September 13
Carlton v Adelaide, Metricon Stadium, 1.05pm AEST
(Adelaide last play on Sep 8 - same break but Adelaide travel from WA)

Rnd 18 (Venues & times TBC)
Brisbane v Carlton
(Brisbane last play on Sep 13 - same break, same state)

The compressed fixture looks tough for us, but in each instance we seem to have either the same prep as our opponent, or a more favourable lead-in.

Also:
- Good to play Collingwood and GWS sooner rather than later, the wheels are falling off.
- Good to play Adelaide and Sydney later rather than sooner, when they're hopefully at the player management/discreet tanking stage.
- Good to play Brisbane in the final round, when they're hopefully resting some players for finals.
- All games at neutral grounds except (probably) Brisbane.

I'd go so far as to say Brisbane will almost certainly be resting players in R18. They'll be coming off a run of games on the 4th, 9th and 13th of September.

Will be a great chance to expose the rest of the list, rest/rotate older guys for Dow(hopefully plays this week anyway), Honey, Polson, O’Brien etc.

Very good summation.
Other than the fact the games aren’t at Princes Park, we don’t have a lot of excuses.
Just need to get on a roll of belief.

Because I have too much time on my hand I drew up a little spreadsheet which might help calculate any fatigue factor

couldn’t get the Brisbane game in because we don’t know when it will be played yet

A team we were never going to beat in the first place perhaps?

I don't accept that there's any team we have yet to play that we can't beat. Brisbane is the hardest, but now we're probably getting them at the best time when if they can't move positions they might rest players for the final round.

The pass mark set by the club for the remaining 7 games should be 4 wins.

We play the 12th, 14th, 16th and 18th ranked teams.

On top of that we play GWS who look shot and Coll who aren’t in tip top shape either.

I think it is about as sensible as AFL can make it, in the circumstances.
Browsing most of our opponents playing with 24 hours of us in previous game anyway so it nothing outrageously different in any rounds left.
Just have to manage our players well when it only a few days between games. Cats did it well this week not going too heavy on the track between their Monday night game and Friday night game. Apparently it was mostly focus on recovery between those games.
