IMO, I think they mucked up the pacing of S06...too much time at the Temple led to not enough end in the last four eps with many scenes appearing rushed, some eps appearing rushed, and now these extras for the DVD finale...

Agreed. Seems we spent about six episodes sitting around the temple with two new characters learning nothing.

for years i was really excited about the rewatch when it all ended, thinking locke was MIB in season 1, or the flashbacks were an alt, or the flash forwards were, all these different scenarios were going through my head

after watching the finale, which i kinda liked, ive got no real interest in re-watching LOST, i loved it, but its kinda done

I will probably will rewatch it (i'll buy the complete series) but I'd probably give it a year. Partly because there's other shows that I want to get into, but it's what 23 said Lost is done. It was epic and mostly awesome but the ride's over.

Whereas Season 5 (which I also feel was unnecessary) at least gave us some backstory to the DHARMA Initiative and the incident, Season 6 with the Temple really served no purpose other than to tread water; something the writers stated they would no longer do.

Even more than just the Temple some of the flashes just didn't serve any real purpose other than to get the character from point A to point B. I still love the finale and thought all of that was handed really well. But it does make me a little indifferent to S6, which could well end up being that no. in terms of people's favourite season.


But like what I've read what someone's said, if someone could erase my memory of Lost, ala Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, I would do it only for someone to give me the entire series and for me to get back on that journey.

I liked season 5 as a lot of things fell into place and although they used time travel, to me it worked and I 'bought it'.

For me S01, S03 and S05 were the highlight years...perhaps not at the time either!

yeah loved season 5, the scene where locke tells richard he has to go and fix his wound, and richard has no idea what is going on, and then locke time travels again was what i thought the rewatch was going to be all about

all these convos with double meanings where certain characters knew the end result all through the show but for whatever reason couldn't let on

just didn't pan out that way

The replay will also include pop-up facts on the finale, although it isn’t yet clear whether Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse are involved.

Caught a glimpse of it and didn't say anything I didn't know. Basically went This is Juliet. Sun is remembering the island....

I went and saw the last 15 minutes, just to see it again and that didn't have any of the 'facts'.

Pretty disappointing really...I wonder who was behind it LOST 'painting by numbers'...I'm glad I set the VCR to fast fwd through stuff and the ADS!!!

5 minutes of LOST and then 5 minutes of ADS!

And what happened during the last 10 minutes? Probably the most interesting part of the finale and the commentary disappears?

Actually some of Desy's comments make sense on a second watching; and the Kate-Jack goodbye is sadder because we know Jack's fate.

Probably one of the few times Ch7 has shown the 'LOST' caption at the end as well.

Been an unusual year but a decade since its end went fairly unremarked. The ultimately bad ending really hit the legacy. There weren't many serialised dramas when Lost started. Now they're everywhere. That's what it really left behind.
