Has burst speed. Doesn't often use it. Coaching could feasibly change that.
In the end, he's just another Rocky/Ebert/Wines/Boak/SPP type

We probably have more of that type then any already given we've got some depth not making the 22 in that mold.

The only feasible reason for getting him is Wines and/or SPP leaving.

It'll cost you a lot in wage or trade currency..... Doesn't make much sense.

And both of them look surer than they have all year to stay. If you asked me a few months ago I would have definitely said atleast 1 goes. Their attitude/comments have changed, as has their form so unlikely IMO.

Ebert is the only chance I see but even then he's been moved up fwd lately.

Or maybe Roo has it right and Charlie goes, freeing up some coin.

I don't think you'd be the only club in the race mind you, and we will match all but the highest bidder IMO

It's one of the more fascinating situations with a potential pick 2 in the play for a player at his best you could ill afford to lose but with all the current circumstances...

Can't think of a more fascinating call on anyone in recent memory. And combine that with potential salary/list changes.

I always felt it sounded awkward in his interviews in the past, he obviously knew the situation.

Given he's not set on anyone, Adelaide's not set on him either, quite unusual. He's the true definition of a free agent.

Couldn't agree more.

Will be an extremely interesting FA period.

Eh.....

Something has definitely changed, maybe the club has got wind of an offer that may trigger 2.

If Ebert moves on with his concussion issues, they continue to have Rocky on the fringe.... yeah maybe he'll fit, but it's hardly a pressing need.

We need a tall defender, not another slow mid. Everyone can see that.

If you offer enough to get us band 1 compo, we'll even throw in Hartigan to sweeten the deal.

I personally think in a typical draft you should let him go, even if that pick is not 2. Sometimes you just gotta move on (Polec and Wingard).

But maybe with this compromised draft that clouds it even more.

LOL

I'll give you my left nut for Doedee if you throw in Tahlia haha

But you'll probably want a 1 way ticket outta SA at that point :)

I think having pick 1 and 2, with an SA prospect very high on most draft boards negates that compromised draft somewhat.

If you made the bigger changes most of us thought you should have last year I'd agree.

I think the problem lies in that if you do get 1 and 2 (and other good picks), you still got the same guys who've fked up the last 3-5 years of drafts or so and their subsequent development.

And tbh, pick 1 has very rarely been the best in the draft, though I'd take Hodge 100000 times over Judd...

Good thing the Bulldogs will match any bid for JUH.

Those development changes should come at years end..... Hopefully.

The other thing is be nervous about him is he's clearly getting his manager to shop himself for the most money, like last year supposedly.

He's not choosing a club for the right reasons. Be it home etc etc

So what level of motivation or dedication can you expect then. And how would someone like that fit in a group when he's likely being paid more.

Reminds me of someone I hated with a passion, Nathan Brown who freely admitted he left the Dogs for more money. Never sat well.

Another similar would be Polec.... And his heart wasn't in it clearly.

😂 so no one has offered him anything.
a true nothing story.
It certainly seems like his manager is desperate for the right offer. Mustn't be getting much right now.

I mean suggesting he'd play for our direct rival is as desperate as it gets

If Port grab Brad Crouch as an overpaid band 1 FA would they have the worst set of FAs in league history?

Brad, Motlop, Watts, Rockliff, Lycett is very uninspiring. So much wasted salary!

They have enough runs on the board to make me think this is a real possibility. Losing Wines and getting a first rounder + Brouch for cash seems right up their alley. That's a net win in my book.

Yes an no.

Seems as though Wines has settled and is happy where he is. I don't know why they'd be pushing Wines out the door. On the other hand they have Ebert and Rockcliff who are getting pretty close to the end as well as (reportedly) plenty of room within their TTP.

I guess they're still a possibility to add Brad, just depends if they want to spend more money in the guts. Port have done at well luring players but it isn't always easy especially being from SA, given Brad is on the table might as well take it if there are no other viable candidates in the short term.
