Hong Kong is a whole different issue and is complex. Are you familiar with how Hong Kong was westernised in the first place? It is a bit of a stretch to expect LeBron James or the NBA to resolve the Hong Kong protests.

I also note that LeBron James and the NBA have not resolved Middle East peace, the Palestinian question, tensions in Ukraine, Belarus, Kashmir, Ethiopia, they haven't cured aids, cancer, coronavirus, global warming............ Do you expect them to stop playing until the whole worlds issues are resolved?

And given LeBron James and pretty much the entire NBA are not Chinese there is not much personal connection to the issue either.

LeBron James is an African American man and the NBA is a mostly African American League in a country where they believe African American men are being unfairly treated.

He is entitled to protest and just because they are good at basketball does not take away that right. Not taking up every cause on earth does not take away that right either.

And arguing that is does is weak.

LeBron didn’t even have to give a s**t about Hong Kong really. But he attacked Morey for having an opinion on something he either relates with or feels passionate about clearly because of the financial ramifications. As a leader amongst the players it was a terrible look and terribly hypocritical when he now is leading a boycott of the league over an issue he feels strongly about. Just like Morey did.

It's easy enough to read their "What We Believe" on their website. I doubt you've done that.

We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and “villages” that collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable.

The issue is that a white person would not be given the same treatment. There’s videos circulating of white offenders in the exact same situation and the police handle it differently. Why can’t 3 officers subdue the man before he gets to his car? Ample time to do so. Why shoot him 7 times in the back?

The issue is there is absolutely ZERO evidence that those SAME police officers on that same day would not have done the same to a white man with the same criminal history and resisting arrest in the same manner.

Meaningless to an individuals interpretation at an exact moment on that exact fateful day. Absolutely zero evidence those exact individuals would have done any differently will all circumstances being exactly the same but the person being arrested having a lighter skin colour.

I wonder if you ran a shop and wanted to ban individuals due to a certain aspect such as race because you believe that on average their attitude to paying for goods was different. When they defend themselves and say you have do not evidence that they did not intend to pay for goods or service upon entry to your store would you reply with "statistics say otherwise"?
