Imagine losing to a previously winless Adelaide.

*Laughs in the direction of Scrimshaw and JOM*

Pretty satisfying to see Hawks turning into hopeless team. Tired of Clarko’s crap. Playing kids - sure 26 years 7 months old team.
Their Kids are all crap besides Worpel

Hawks traded their second round pick this year for Sam Frost
+ a few other late pick swaps.

Tried following the breadcrumbs on all the late pick swaps. Was involved in Pittonet, Hugo Ralphsmith to Richmond, Essendon 2020 3rd rounder. Don't think it really amounted to much.

Would have kick started their rebuild to get an Elijah Hollands with their first, Zane Trew with their second and then Connor Downiest via NGA.
Not sure why they made that trade.

Clarko doesn't rate the draft instead he goes for recycled players that worked for him when....... they were already good. Not gonna work now

If we don’t beat hawthorn I’d be very disappointed. Adelaide have been referred to as the most non competitive, worst team in history. This include ours and GWS formative years, and Fitzroy towards the end of their life .
Adelaide were actually quite competitive in recent weeks. Talia, Sloan, B Crouch are back. They played OK.

I got quite amused listening to Clarko's presser. He constantly complained about HUB coditions, short breaks. When asked about rebuild through draft he talked about it's difficult because of compromised draft and then whinged 3 min about academies in QLD and NSW and Suns specifically with NT now added. He literally said 'Next Cyril Rioli will come through Suns'. What a sook. Completely forgetting all these F/S and NGA draftees joining Melbourne teams, 3rd party deals etc. He still thinks silverware is just around the corner.

Scrimsook seems to be finding his way, listed in there best this week. What did we do with the 3rd rounder we got for him?

Wonder what we did with the $400k that we were going to pay him for the next 2 years to play NEAFL given our salary cap was stuffed.

Watched a bit of the game last night - still missing easy passes, still can't defend. He's just sitting off the play and getting easy kicks. He's nothing special and you still wouldn't want him in the foxhole.

I checked the presser out after reading your post and he did have a fair old sook. Made a heap of excuses and multiple digs about the draft and academies not being fair, this a laughable comment when you look at how many players hawthorn have ripped from smaller clubs during the angry short people tenure

Hawthorn received 2 x top 3 priority picks in the 2004 and 2005 drafts at the start of his coaching career.
This got them Franklin for free. Why didn't the angry midget bring this up?
No one forced him to recruit the who's who of footy mercenaries of poor character (Scully, Wingard, Scrimsook), nor G graders in Brooksby, Minchington and Hartley.
Suck it up Clarko.

Suck it up Clarko.

Plus the comprised expansion drafts of 2010 and 2011 absolutely benefited those teams that had been poor during the 2000's and had already drafted their elite talent and now just needed to top up with older players.

If you were a good young team on the rise in 2010 you had a big advantage over teams that needed to re-load with talent.

The Hawks took the most advantage but the expansion teams did give quite a few established teams a leg up.

Can we get Clarko to send in a video thanking the AFL, the Suns and GWS for helping them win a few flags?

Shame to see Clarko ruining his legacy with this petulant loser behaviour. Doesn't seem to know what to do when the chips are down.

Or that’s he’s not a supercoach - just happened to have the best players at the right time
Nah he is a supercoach, Leon Cameron has had a team arguably close to the Hawks and hasn't got close. Sustained success is incredibly hard to come buy and only the great coaches get it.
Doesn't stop him from being a ******* tho

OUT: Grant Birchall, Marc Pittonet, pick No.50, 2020 round two pick

2018
In: Jack Scrimshaw, Tom Scully, Chad Wingard, 2019 third-round pick
Out: Ryan Burton, Taylor Duryea, picks 15, 35, 2019 third-round pick, 2019 fourth-round pick, 2019 fourth-round pick

Basically

They could have started this 2 years ago and had a 2021 best 22 with
- A half-decent young ruckman in Pittonet
- The next Isaac Smith clone in Duursma
- The next Jack Gunston in Curtis Taylor

Hardwick (23) - Nash (22) - Kozitscke (20)
Day (19) - Sicily (25) - Scrimshaw (22)
Impey (25) - O'Meara (26) - Smith (32)
Taylor (20) - Gunston (29) - Duursma (20)
O'Brien (26) - Lewis (22) - Bruest (30)

Pittonet (24) - Mitchell (27) - Worpel (22)

I: Shiels (29) - Morrison (22) - Counsins (22) - 2020 pick 3

E: Mguinness (19), Ceglar (29), 2020 pick 20,

Its a pretty good mix of mature players and a good young core. Almost where we are now. They just screwed it.

Scrimsook seems to be finding his way, listed in there best this week. What did we do with the 3rd rounder we got for him?
It's a little complicated but the simple answer is that we packaged it with another pick to secure Brisbane's 2019 first rounder (pick 17). We then traded that pick and a second rounder to Carlton in order to secure pick 11 on draft night. We then used pick 11 to draft Sam Flanders.

So I guess you could say the Scrimshaw trade partially led to us securing Sam Flanders.
