AFL club membership tally falls for first time in 20 years

AFL club membership has fallen for just the second time in 30 years but five clubs have still managed to break their all-time records despite the hit of COVID-19.

Pretty impressive overall with 48,588 and hopefully next year we get over 50k

Ahead of Port, Melbourne, WB, North and Sydney along with the expansion clubs is a good result. Well ahead of Melbourne, North and Doggies.

30k members in 2014, up to 48k this year. There's obviously a variety of reasons why this increase has happened, but it's a significant effort by the club. By the sounds of Finnis and Bassat's interviews, this membership support has been crucial for the club in a covid world.
