Universal Love Kreuzer announces Retirement

Sad day but the right call by Humphrey, playing on would have held back TDK..

Also sad to hear Bryce Gibbs is retiring and will play his last game against us.. Both players will always be Carlton legends.. Its a shame we cant give them a proper send off, along with Eddie and probably Simpson these guys have been the heart and sole of our footy club during our roughest years.. They have done the hard yards to get us to a place we are now where we can start to feel optimism again.

Knew he was a prodigious talent when the club refused to trade Pick 1 to secure Judd, which would have been a pretty straight-forward decision.

Still remember his exciting first game against Essendon, clunking marks around the ground and slotting a couple of long-range set shots. After years of battler ruckman following Matty Allan's retirement, he was exactly what our midfield group needed.

Doubt Cripps would be the same player without his presence at the stoppages. Had great connection with our midfield group, not just with his taps, but his constant follow up work. Tackled and harassed, and always provided a link up option. His awareness for a big guy was incredible.

Probably never got to the heights he might of due to injury, but he's been an ornament to this team, and I'm guessing a terrific mentor to any ruckman who's been able to work with him across the journey. Frustrating he'll never get to experience a premiership, but his contribution to this team has been massive.

Sad news.

Class right to the end

If not for the multitude of injuries, he really could have been one of the great ruckmen of the game

An absolute gentleman, but warrior, that always gave his all for the club

I hope he remains at the club in some capacity

Calling time on his own career, solidifies the character of the man

The only one of the 'chosen ones' I'd sit down and have dinner with - never saw him once do a dirty play on any player - didn't need to. See hsi leap above and his mobility - the original 'modern' ruckman /rover - career destroyed by injury. Love and respect for the big guy - he can now enjoy his motorbikes and tractors.

Agree totally, brings a tear to one’s eye reflecting on the contributions of Bryce, Matty, Kade , Marc and Bryce.Throughout the last decade and the many harsh challenges and darker moments of our history.
All are great exponents of the very best of being a Mighty Blues and AFL footballer.

We're left in good hands with the development of TDK.
Feel like Kreuzer is our Tracy McGrady, could've been anything though his body had other plans.

Shattered to hear about Gibbs also. The circumstances around him leaving Carlton weren't ideal though it was right for the club at the time.
Loved him as a player, was the most dangerous player on the ground when he was on.

All the best to both in retirement.
